Annapurna Base Camp Trek 9 Days

Walking The Himalaya Treks & Tour, organized trek to Annapurna Base Camp is an adventure filled expedition which takes you through the wildest landscapes to the base of Mount Annapurna, the world’s 10th tallest peak. The magnetic beauty and charm of the natural terrain and icy trails greet you along the way. The major highlight of the trek is Annapurna Base Camp and Machhapuchhre Base Camp.

Itinerary

Day 1: Drive to Pokhara (820m/2,690ft)

Stop At: Pokhara Lakeside, Lakeside Rd, Pokhara 33700 Nepal
We start with a drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara- the famous tourist destination in Nepal in a tourist vehicle. During the journey, we enjoy the natural landscapes and beauty of green hillside. Upon reaching Pokhara we head to the hotel and take rest. We might roam around the city. We spend the night at Pokhara.

Day 2: Drive to Naya Pul and trek to Ghandruk (1940m/6,365ft) 4/5 hours

Stop At: Ghandruk, Ghandruk, Gandaki Zone, Western Region
From Pokhara, we will drive to Naya Pul early in the morning. Our trek begins from Naya Pul. We then head towards Ghandruk. The village is mostly inhabited by the Mongolian Gurung community. We will have a chance to observe the traditional way of life and cultural richness. We roam around the village and spend the night in a lodge at Ghandruk.

Day 3: Trek from Ghandruk to Sinuwa (2360m/7743ft) 6-7 hours

Stop At: Sinuwa, Ghandruk 33700, Nepal
We start the trek with the walk through the rhododendron forest enjoying the captivating views around. The walk down ahead is quite rocky so we have to be careful. We then reach the Kimrong Khola and cross the suspension bridge over the river. From there we start the steep ascent to Taulung Danda.The beautiful view of Mount Annapurna South and Mount Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Mountain) can be observed along the way. We then descend for a while and it’s an easy walk to Chhomrong village. We will stop for the lunch at Chhomrong. After the lunch, we descend via 2200 stone steps past the suspension bridge over Chhomrong River. From here, it is an uphill walk to Sinuwa. We spent the night at a lodge in Sinuwa.

Day 4: Trek from Sinuwa to Deurali (3230m/10597ft) 5-6 hours

Stop At: Deurali, Ghandruk 33700, Nepal
The trek starts with a walk over the gentle uphill and downhilltrail from Sinuwa. The trail further takes us to Bamboo through beautiful rhododendron forest continues with a climb up to until we reach Dobhan. We then head steep uphill towards Himalaya. We pass through small streams and rivers along the way. Nature adds beauty to the walk and makes forget the tiredness. From here, it is an uphill walk until we reach Deurali. The night will be spent at Deurali.

Day 5: Trek from Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (4130m/13550ft) 4 hours

Stop At: Annapurna Region, Annapurna Region, Gandaki Zone, Western Region
The trek starts with a walk through Bagar, river bed area, and then we will move ahead through the uphill trail. This trail will take us to Machhapuchhre Base Camp. Upon reaching the base camp, the breathtaking views of mountains around give a sense of sheer joy and excitement. The view of mighty peaks like Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, Annapurna I and others will give you one of the best experiences. We next head towards ABC. Walking ahead we get to view the huge peak above us. The walk takes us through the icy trail to the base camp. The 360° view of the mountain range from the Annapurna Base Camp gives you the thrilling experience. We enjoy the view and take pictures together. We stay for the night at ABC.

Day 6: Trek from Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo (2300m/7546ft) 6-7 hours

Stop At: Annapurna Region, Annapurna Region, Gandaki Zone, Western Region
We start our day with the beautiful view of morning sunrise from ABC. We take pictures of glowing mountain peak highlighted with morning sun’s rays. We then start our walk from ABC back towards Bamboo. We follow the downhill trail we walked before. We walk through the bamboo forest enjoying the natural beauty around.

Day 7: Trek from Bamboo to Jhinu Danda (1770m/5807ft) 4-5 hours

Stop At: Jhinu Danda, Ghandruk 33700, Nepal
The trek today starts with the walk uphill and again downhill until we finally reach Chhomrong River. Further ahead, we walk through the stone steps and towards Chhomrong. We then head towards Jhinu Danda. Upon reaching Jhinu Danda we rest for some time. There are hot springs in the area and we will also be giving our body a good rest by enjoying in the hot springs. We head towards hot springs nearby and relax our tired muscles. We stay for the night in a lodge at Jhinu Danda.

Day 8: Trek from Jhinu Danda to Nayapul (5-6 hours) and drive to Pokhara

Stop At: Pokhara Lakeside, Lakeside Rd, Pokhara 33700 Nepal
Today is the last day of our trek. We start walking early from Jhinu Danda to Naya Pul enjoying the beautiful views around. The trek comes to an end at Naya Pul. From Naya Pul we drive back to Pokhara. We spend the night at Pokhara.

Day 9: Drive to Kathmandu, 6-7 hours

Stop At: Thamel, Kathmandu 44600 Nepal
Today we head back to Kathmandu from Pokhara. We take good rest and soothe our aching muscles. We also muse over the exciting trek we had. At Kathmandu, we organize farewell dinner for you and celebrate the successful completion of the trek.
