Pashupatinath Temple is situated on the banks of river Bagmati and is one of the principal temples of Lord Shiva. The Patan Durbar Square is rich in ancient arts and architecture. Swayambhunath Temple is popular among the foreigners as the Monkey Temple owing to the large monkey population residing in the area.

Stop At: Boudhanath Stupa, Boudh, Kathmandu 44600 Nepal

Boudhanath is a standout amongst the most imposing tourist spots in Kathmandu. The 36-meter-high stupa of Boudhanath is one of the biggest stupas in South Asia. With incalculable religious communities encompassing it, Boudhanath is the focal point of Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal.

Stop At: Pashupatinath Temple, Pashupati Nath Road, Kathmandu 44600 Nepal

Pashupatinath is one of the four most vital religious sites in Asia for devotees of Shiva. Built in the fifth century, and later redesigned by Malla rulers, the site itself is said to have existed from the earliest starting point of the thousand years when a Shiva lingam was found here. The biggest temple complex in Nepal, it extends on the two sides of the Bagmati River which is viewed as heavenly by Hindus.

Stop At: Patan Durbar Square, Patan (Lalitpur) 44700 Nepal

Patan Durbar Square boasts of many famous sites and unique architecture. Krishna Mandir in this Square was built to honor an incarnation of Vishnu. One of the best examples of stone architecture in the world, scenes from Mahabharat, Asia’s greatest mythological war, are carved on the temple’s walls. Home to traditional artists and sculptors, one can find more temples dedicated to Ganesh (the elephant-headed god), Shiva, Narsingha, Taleju, and others are located at Patan Durbar Square.

Stop At: Swayambhunath Temple, Swayamhu Circle Road, Kathmandu 44620 Nepal

Swoyambhunath Stupa, built 2000 years ago situated on a hillock about 77 m above the level of the Kathmandu valley. Visitors will also have a grand view of the valley from this spot. The Stupa is also connected to the legend that surrounds the birth of Kathmandu. It is said that when the ancient lake was drained out to form the Kathmandu valley, the shining sunlight became Swoyambhunath Stupa. On a regular day, you will find various groups of Buddhist monks, dressed in maroon, circling the complex. Every one of them will have the sacred prayer wheels in their hand unless they have not caught the fancies of scores of monkeys that inhabit the area. These irrelevant groups of monkeys play prank with tourists and monk and thus this shrine has been re-christened, Monkey Temple.
