Three High Passes Trek Nepal - An Everest 20D19N Trek

One of the most challenging treks in Nepal is Everest Three High Passes Trek. With this, you will be able to view the beauty of Renjo La (5360m), Cho La (5368m) and Kongma La (5330m). The trail will be quiet and peaceful and goes via Gokyo Valley and Everest Base Camp. Gokyo Ri (5360m) Kala Pattar (5540m), and Chukkung Ri (5550m) are the three peaks that are in store for you in this trek.

Sagarmatha National Park in Joesalle, panoramas of the Everest peaks in Namche Bazaar, and learning about the lifestyle of the Sherpa people in Khumjung village are ready to help you learn more about the trek and make the journey unforgettable. The steep and slippery trail will make it a little difficult trek but in the end you will have a lot to share.

Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Nepal

Stop At: Tribhuvan International Airport, Ring Rd, काठमाडौँ 44600, Nepal
You will be welcomed to Nepal on Day 1. Our team would be waiting for you at the airport and will transfer you to the hotels. The trek team will meet you at the hotel and will brief you about the plans and required preparation.

Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing

Stop At: Kathmandu, Kathmandu, Kathmandu Valley, Bagmati Zone, Central Region
The tour starts at 9:00 am; you will be taken to the ancient’s kingdoms of Kathmandu. After five hours of sightseeing, you will be taken back to your hotel and the trek guide will be there to help you know the places you would be visiting and the basic itinerary.

Day 3: Phakding Trek After Transferring to Lukla

Stop At: Lukla, Lukla, Sagarmatha Zone, Eastern Region
You need to wake up early on this day. After taking the breakfast, which is ready and packed by the hotel, you get transferred to Lukla. There you will be meeting the guide which will help you with your bags that you need to carry for the whole trek.
Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Phakding, Phakding, Khumbu, Sagarmatha Zone, Eastern Region
Your trek starts here. Since this is your first day, it is not required to rush and trek slowly to Phakding. This will help you to warm up and also you can admire the beauty of Chaurikharka and Dudhkoshi River on the way.

Stop At: Dhudh Kosi River, Nepal
Highest river in terms of elevation, Dudh Kosi River has white water. The frothy water is the reason it gets its name as Dudh Kosi, which can be translated to Milk River. You would be following the river while trekking to Phakhding.

Pass By: Chaurikharka, Chaurikharka, Sagarmatha Zone, Eastern Region
While trekking you will be passing through Chaurikharka. Chaurikharka is a magnificent village with having large amount of grasslands. This village will surely be a treat to your eyes.

Day 4: Trek to Namche Bazaar

Stop At: Monjo, Monjo, Khumbu, Sagarmatha Zone, Eastern Region
A small village in the region of Khumbu, Monjo is home to Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The trek gets a bit tough after crossing this village.
Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Jorsalle, Jorsalle, Khumbu, Sagarmatha Zone, Eastern Region
After walking uphill and gaining height in the last few hours you get to stop for lunch either in Monjo or in Jorsalle. Jorsalle is another small village in Nepal and lies in the North of Monjo.

Stop At: Namche Bazaar, Namche Bazaar, Khumbu, Sagarmatha Zone, Eastern Region
As you check in the tea house you get to explore Namche Market. A town in Khumbu Pasanglhamu Rural Municipality, Namche Bazaar has a lot to explore.

Day 5: Acclimatization Day at Namche Bazaar

Stop At: Namche Bazaar, Namche Bazaar, Khumbu, Sagarmatha Zone, Eastern Region
We get an acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar. And yes the day does not mean we are going to rest and spend a lazy day. We will use this day to explore the best of Namche Bazaar. After having breakfast we hike up to admire alluring views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kongde and many more.

Day 6: Trek To Thame From Namche

Stop At: Thame, Namche 56000, Nepal
Home of the famous Nepalese mountaineers Ang Rita Sherpa, Thame is a small, traditional, and aesthetic village in Nepal. We trek to Thame from Namche. The distance is about 4-5 hours.

Day 7: Trek to Lungden

Stop At: Lungden Lodge, Namche 56000, Nepal
From Thame, we trek to Lugden the trek is about 4 - 5 hours and at about 4,380 M or 14,370 ft. The trek is ready to amaze you with its beauty and breathtaking views.

Day 8: Renjo La Pass to Gokyo

Stop At: Gokyo, Gokyo, Sagarmatha Zone, Eastern Region
The path to Panka we follow has some enthralling views. The steep rocky incline by the side of glaciers is what is waiting for us to be climbed. Later in the trek, we arrive at the second lakes which is the way to the glacier to Cho La our route to Lobuche and Everest. The third lake we reach is known as Dudh Pokhari. All the views we pass through are highly possessed by the beauty and are enthralling.

Day 9: Acclimatization Day at Gokyo Valley

Stop At: Gokyo Ri, Khumjung 56000, Nepal
After having breakfast, we enjoy the stunning views of Cho-Oyu, Gyachung Kang, Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Makalu mountains. Gokyo Ri is also considered to be one of the best viewpoints and will give us a chance to see the biggest glacier of the world- the Ngozumba Glacier.

Day 10: Trek to Thagnak

Stop At: Ngozumpa glacier, Khumjung 56000, Nepal
Today you would be hiking to the longest glacier of Nepal named Ngozumpa Glacier. The day's hike would be easier than usual as we get to prepare ourselves for the heights and long days that are about to come.

Day 11: Thagnak to Cho La pass

Stop At: Cho La Pass, Khumjung 56000, Nepal
The day would be the longest and the toughest day of whole trek. Do not get scared the day has a lot to explore and will be remembered for the rest of your life. The steep involves a glacier that asks us to be aware and careful. We trek to the top of the pass which is decorated with prayer flags, through the side of a frozen lake. Picturesque views of Cholatse, Ama Dablam, Lobuche mountains could be seen from Dzongla.

Day 12: Trek to Lobuche from Dzongla

Stop At: Lobuche, Khumjung 56000, Nepal
After achieving a milestone and completing the last day's hike, it is time for an easier one. A short hike with a plenty of time to relax is ready to amaze you with its scenic beauty and helps you enjoy the view of Lobuche peak.

Day 13: Day Hike to Everest Base Camp and Lobuche Trek GorakShep

Stop At: Gorakshep, Khumjung 56000, Nepal
Through rocky and rugged path the trek leads you to Gorakshep. The stunning sight of Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Pumori, and others are on the way as you walk. Rocky dunes, moraine, and streams will what we pass as we reach the Everest Base Camp. Gorakshep is where we go after exploring the Everest Base Camp.

Day 14: Gorakshep to Kala Patthar, Then Trek to Lobuche

Stop At: Kala Patthar, Nepal
A notable landmark located on the south ridge of Pumori, the name Kala Patthar can be translated to Black Rock. The listed elevation is about 5,545–5,550 m (18,192–18,209 ft) and it takes six to seven hours to complete this whole trek.

Day 15: Lobuche to Kongma La Pass and Then Chhukung

Stop At: Kongma La Pass, Khumjung 56000, Nepal
The stunning views from Kongma La Pass will make your day. The lake and the panoramic view will truly mesmerize you. The attitude of the Pass is about 5,545 M (18,192 ft).

Stop At: Chukhung 56000, Nepal
Above the village of Chhukung, Chukhung Ri is a rocky peak. The altitude is about 4,730 M (15,518 ft) and it takes about seven to eight hours to complete the whole trek.

Day 16: Chhukung Trek to Tengboche

A village in Khumbu Pasanglhamu, Tengboche is located at 3,867 meters (12,687 ft). It will take about seven to eight hours to complete the trek.

Day 17: Tengboche to Namche Bazaar

We trek from Tengboche to Namche Bazaar. With an altitude of 3,440m (11,283ft), it would take about five to six hours to complete.

Day 18: Namche Bazaar Trek to Lukla
