Trekking Guide for Mardi Himal

This is a short trek that can be completed in 4-6 days from Pokhara back to Pokhara. Flights aren’t compulsory. Its a ridge trek with double side view of valleys and a close view of Himalayas in front from a same location in most of the higher parts of the trail. Except for the initial and final day of the trek, it doesn’t have human settlements on the trail excluding staffs of lodges/ tea-houses. Camping is not needed since you can find lodges for good foods & sleeping. One can reach over 4000 mtrs within several days crossing the treeline and can feel as if they are flying over the clouds (please check the photos). You can reach the base of Himalayas (be at Himalayas) in this trek. You can include a super beautiful homestay village, Lwang on the trail and experience real Nepalese life experience. I will provide you cooking class for Nepalese food if you are interested. The trek is wilder than Poonhill trek and a bit more difficult in comparision and hence better for nature lovers.

Itinerary

We’ll depart for the trek at 8:00 am from Pokhara after having breakfast. Departure upto 12:00 pm is possible. 1st day we will drive to Kande (1 hr) from where we start our trek. We’ll have breakfast at around 7:00 am, start trekking before 8:00 am, have lunch at around 12:00 pm, end at around 3:00 pm & have overnights in lodges/tea houses. All lodges in the route are very simple and are made just for foods and sleeping. Menus have enough foods and drinking items all over the trail. Most of the lodges have fire in dinings. You may have to share rooms with other trekkers if you are single, due to low number of lodges. Electricity are not available in most of the lodges. Somehow I can manage for batteries charging in most of the lodges requesting managers. Wifi isn’t available in most of the stations. This trek is a circuit althogh few part has to be repeated. Maximum height you’ll reach is 4500 mtrs. The trail is much more wilder than Poonhill and can be done for 5-7 days from Pokhara.

Price indicated is per day per group & only covers guide fee. Additional days will cost $50 (taxes included) per day for guide. I’ll arrange porters, vehicles, permits, food & accommodation on demand.
