Yarsa valley is situated in the Rasuwa district, the same District as the popular Langtang Trekking route. This trek is a very isolated and remote area of this District that is close to the Holy Gosaikunda Lake area, with the majority of the village people on this particular trekking route being Tamang, or of Tibetan heritage.

This is a virgin trekking route designed by High Himalayan Trekking and Expedition team which is very suitable for all age groups. The groups partaking in this trek will experience trekking in areas of the Himalayas that have yet to be seen by any foreigner!! It is a combination of easy to moderate trekking following the low valley villages to the top of the mountain at approx.4400m.

The Yarsa Valley is rich in ancient Tamangculture, you will trail through villages with many ancient customs and rituals, with part of this richness taking in the practise of shamanism.

This new trekking route starts from Kalaikasthan and trek to Jibajibe for the first overnight stay. The trek will then proceed to visit the beautiful cultural villages of Betang, Sarsiu, Arukharka, Langu, Larchhyangtar, Yarsa, Thangdor and Singbandi. Trekkers will take in the sights of beautiful Langtang National park flora and fauna, the second biggest national park of Nepal, and then move to Holy Gosaikunda Lake. This lake is a tourist attraction combined with being a Hindu and Buddhist pilgrimage for locals.

This trekking route is linked with the popular trekking trail of Langtang, Gosaikunda and Helambu valley.

If you have sufficient time, after Gosaikunda you can continue your trek to Helambu valley area or theLangtang Valley area. Another alternative could be that trekkers can direct descent to Dhunche and drive back to Kathmandu the next day.

The Yarsa Valley trek is a camping trek as there are no teahouses or home stays yet built in this area, although after reaching Gosaikunda tea house trekking is possible that will continue on to Helambu Valley or Langtang Region.
