History Tours Netherlands presents our historical "Anne Frank in Holland" tours.

Walk in the footsteps of Anne Frank and learn about the World War 2 stories, events and motives from a Jewish, Dutch and German perspective

We will take you to the places Anne Frank lived, played and went to school before going into hiding, places that look almost exactly like it was in her time.

Along the way you will learn about the people hiding with Anne in the annex, the helpers, we look at who could have betrayed them, we learn about Dutch resistance fighters and collaborators, of acts of courage and cowardice, and we will look at the events from a German perspective. Ultimately we will ask ourselves the question: Could this happen again in our time?

Day 1: Walking tour in Amsterdam

Stop At: Statue of Anne Frank, Prinsengracht 281, Amsterdam The Netherlands
We will walk around the neighbourhood where Anne lived before going into hiding, telling many stories of events that happened here
Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Apollohal, Apollolaan 4, 1077 BA Amsterdam, Netherlands
This is the start of the walk around the German district in Amsterdam
Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Jewish Corner, Amsterdam The Netherlands
The main area where Jews lived in Amsterdam and deportation happened during the wat

Day 2: Anne Frank in Westerbork

Stop At: Kamp Amersfoort, Loes van Overeemlaan 19, 3832 RZ Leusden The Netherlands
A visit to this small concentration camp in Amersfoort, describing life in the camp and asking who betrayed Anne Frank
Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Het Verscholen Dorp, Pas-Opweg, Vierhouten The Netherlands
A hidden village in the forest near vierhouten is the setting where we will talk about the importance of hidden places in the war, both for resistance fighters as for the Nazis to hide their worst crimes

Stop At: Kamp Westerbork, Oosthalen 8 9414 TG Hooghalen, 9414 TG Hooghalen The Netherlands
This is the transit camp where all Jews, including Anne frank, where sent before being put on transport to the East. At this impressive sight we will talk about what happened both here and the camps such as Auschwitz. We will discuss what happened to Anne and all the other people in hiding as well.

A short stop at this spectacular site allows us to talk about the last months of the war in the Netherlands
Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Apollolaan 138 Parking, Apollolaan 138, 1077 BL Amsterdam, Netherlands
We will finish at a symbolic site in Amsterdam to tell the story about those who survived and returned, after which you will be dropped of at your hotel.
