This is the only organised running tour in Auckland, New Zealand. It takes in a number of the volcanic cones that make the Auckland region so unique. Of course these cones are elevated so the views are spectacular!

The run will include a number of stops to view points of interest and will be at a flexible pace that suits you.

Along the way your guide will discuss the unique history of New Zealand and Auckland and the fascinating geography of the Auckland region. As well, your guide will discuss New Zealand culture and answer any questions you may have.

This is a fantastic way to experience some of Auckland and New Zealand culture while keeping fit and healthy.

Itinerary

Stop At: Albert Park, Princes St, Auckland Central, Auckland New Zealand

Sits on a ridge above one of Auckland's earliest volcanoes, named after barracks that used to be located there. Centrepiece is large cast iron fountain and there are other interesting historical features.

Stop At: Auckland Museum, The Auckland Domain, Parnell, Auckland Central, Auckland 1010 New Zealand

On a crater rim, the museum sits within Auckland's oldest park, Auckland Domain

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Access off Hillside Crescent Mount Eden Road, Auckland Central, Auckland 1024 New Zealand

Maungawhau, the tallest volcanic cone in the Auckland field was probably the capital of the Maori 'Federation' housing up to 3000 people.

Stop At: One Tree Hill (Maungakiekie), 670 Manukau Road Epsom, Auckland Central, Auckland 1023 New Zealand

Originally three craters, one now intact was, with Maungawhau, the most important pa in the Auckland region. The 'One Tree' part of the name has an extensive history.
