Dunedin Wildlife Cruise and Portobello Village-Cruise Ship Passenger-Half Day

On the wildlife cruise part of your tour we go in search of albatross, seals, penguins and many other species. We usually see between 12 and 18 species of animal. You will be given a wildlife sheet before you leave us so you can remember all ofthe animals youve seen.
We aim to get close and low with the animals.
The vessel is fast, comfortable and a custom build.
There is a bathroom onboard and a heated cabin.

Your free time in Portobello can be spent however you like. By hiring an electric bicycle to explore the area more fully, a museum visit, shopping in the local village or by strolling and picnicking. You have plenty of time to enjoy it.

Stop At: Otago Peninsula Museum and Historical Society, 17 Harrington Point Road, Portobello, Portobello, Dunedin New Zealand

Browse the artifacts, talk to the museum keeper, and learn the local maritime history including that of the nearby hulks (shipwrecks), which you will see as we pass by, on the boat on our way to Portobello

By boat we circle the headland looking for albatross that nest here, seals, penguins and many other marine animals and birds.
We stay on the vessel the whole time.

Scenery, shops, walk the flat, easy and interesting heritage trail. Stop and read the plaques that will tell you of the history of the area.
Have free time to visit the local shops and see the displays of traditional Maori carvings being made and other local arts.

We hire electric bicycles from our boatshed at Portobello (must book bicycle by contacting us, before tour departure).
Places to cycle are plentiful. Go to the nearby village, harbourside headlands, wetlands to see wild birds or the the hidden beach of Allans Beach.
Bicycle hire is at extra charge of $70 per person.
