On your private, full day leisure trip, you will have the opportunity to experience a shire tea or a Middle Earth Breakfasts,sample and purchase European style wines in Gladstone, now you head off to Greytown to the landmark White Swan for lunch with enough time to indulge in a shopping spree among some greatly kept Victorian buildings in the historic Greytown. You will travel through some amazing scenery like the Upper Hutt valley, Remutaka pass & Wairarapa valley.

Stop At: Rimutaka Hill View Pount, State Highway, Rimutaka Hill, Upper Hutt 5372, New Zealand
A brief stop to take in the view, Photo's and see the monument that was erected on 27 September 2015, as part of a re-enactment of the Remutaka crossing, a memorial was unveiled. It commemorates 60,000 New Zealand troops who made the crossing between the military camp in Featherston and Hutt Balley between 1915 and 1919.
The memorial, designed by Wairarapa artist Niko Thomsen, features a large stone base constructed by Mike Dunn and steel figures made by Thomsen. The steel figures are approximately 50 cm tall and depict soldiers walking from a vehicle towards a woman with a pot of tea. The memorial represents the experience that soldiers had on the march.

Time to sample a wide range of whites, reds and nobles but before you do this we recommend that you stretch your legs take in the breath taking views that surround the vineyard, winery and Cellar Door. The vineyard is situated in Gladstone, the heart of New Zealands Wairarapa Wine Region, Johner Estate is hands-on, family owned, and exporter of wines around the globe.
The picturesque vineyard follows the course of the ancient Ruamahanga River, and is set in a beautiful and idyllic setting. Free draining alluvial soils and a cool but dry climate, create the setting for the story that is our wine.

We're now heading of to historic Greytown for lunch and more leisure. Greytown was founded in 1854 and is a gate way for the Wellingtonier who is looking for a break from the city. Historic Greytown has lot's on offer from Victorian building's, boutique shops, cafe's, cobblestone museum and much more. Greytown is truly a great destination and a great way to finish your day.
