Join Brian or Anita on this fun and exciting tour to the vineyards of Martinborough to taste the regions exquisite wines.
On our way we will drive through the Hutt Valley region on the way to the Wairarapa. We will visit the Lord of the Rings filming site at the Kaitoke Regional Park and walk across the swing bridge

On our way we stop at the Rimatuka  Lookout.
We will enjoy wine tasting at three vineyards and enjoy a platter style lunch at one of the vineyards.
We will visit Paua World, a gift and souvenirs shop in Carterton

Walk through the iconic historic township of Greytown where the main street is lined with Victorian colonial architecture. The town also has a  number of boutique and quirky local stores such as art and craft shops . 
Coffee and tea stop at Grand Old Hotel.
Visit C'est Cheese in Featherston where you can taste or purchase from an impressive range of unique NZ cheeses.

We will drive to the Martinborough Wine region where we will vist 3 wineries for tasting and also have lunch at one of the venues.

Stop At: Kaitoke Regional Park, Akatarawa Valley, Upper Hutt 5372 New Zealand

Just a short drive from the centre of Wellington is the Kaitoke Regional Park. On our way to the Martinborough vineyards we will drive through the Park
The Kaitoke Regional Park was the filming location for Rivendell and the Fords of Isen in the The Lord of the Rings movie trilogy. The whole area is distinctly elvish, with light filtering through ancient trees and clear babbling brooks. You'll soon feel the magical tranquillity that surrounded the house of Elrond.
The park contains nearly 2500 hectares of mature native forest, including beech, rimu, northern rata, hinau and kamahi. At the popular Pakuratahi Forks, ancient rata and rimu tower over a canopy of kamahi, hinau and miro. The park is also home to rare birds - kaka, yellow-crowned parakeet and a significant number of New Zealand falcon.

The White Swan Hotel is a gorgeous boutique country hotel in the heart of historic Greytown in the Wairarapa. We will stop here for a coffee, hot chocolate or tea on our back to Wellington
