Stop At: Te Puia, Hemo Road, Rotorua New Zealand

As we proceed to our main destination, “Te Puia” Rotorua, we stop to inspect a working kiwifruit orchard, an important three billion dollar horticultural industry in the region.

Driving through the countryside we pass dairy farms, farmland, orchards, pine forests, scenic lakes, before arriving at “Te Puia”, in the Whakarewarewa Valley, New Zealand’s active geothermal volcanic zone.

We are greeted with a traditional Maori welcome & cultural show. I will guide you on a tour of the Park; we get up close to erupting geysers, boiling mud, hot water pools, a steaming volcanic wonderland.

After lunch we explore downtown Rotorua’s hotspots, lakefront highlights awesome Redwood Forest and Govt Gardens.

A busy enjoyable day, we return you back to Tauranga Port on time on board well before sailing away. I have never missed a ship
