Stop At: Hobbiton Movie Set, 501 Buckland Road Matamata, Hinuera 3472 New Zealand
On this one day tour you will get picked up from your hotel in Auckland City in our luxury Van and driven through the southern corridor to Waikato and Matamata, you will see beautiful countryside with different farm animals, rolling hillsides and scenic sights along the way
You will arrive at the Alexander familys sheep farm, the home of the Hobbiton movie sets. The Shires rest being the entrance to Hobbiton and where you can grab a coffee or an ice cream while we organise your tickets to the movie set, you will see hundreds of sheep grazing on the farm with picturesque rolling hills.
You will board a big green Hobbiton bus for a two hour fully guided tour by a professional guide, you will be visiting all 44 hobbit holes and see the amazing gardens and learn the secrets and stories about the making of the movies and the sets. Your tour will end with a beverage at the famous Green Dragon Inn.
After the Lord of the Rings experience we will head south to the geothermal area of Rotorua, we will be passing through the unique town of Tirau where you will see corrugated iron sculptures and pass through the stunning Fitzgerald Glade and see more attractions along the way.

Pōhutu is the largest geyser in the Southern Hemisphere, she erupts once or twice every hour reaching heights of up to 30 meters (100 ft). At Te Puia, you will get to see New Zealands national iconic flightless bird, the Kiwi.
