Pass By: Waipara, Waipara, Canterbury Region, South Island

From your accommodation in Christchurch, travel 45 minutes north to the picture-esque Waipara Region - famous for its dry climate and rich soils, making it ideal for superior wine production. This beautiful area of Canterbury hosts over 40 vineyards and wineries, with Pinot Noir, Riesling, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc dominating the valley. It is here where your wine tour will begin!

Stop At: Waipara Springs Winery, State Highway 1 North, Waipara New Zealand

Your first stop is Waipara Springs, a founding winery in the Waipara Wine region which remains an entirely owned and operated Family Estate. Here you can sample a range of their famous Waipara Springs wine collection and even pick up a bottle or two for home. For those doing the lunch option, your stay here will be extended to an hour which gives you time to enjoy a delicious gourmet lunch.

Your next stop is Greystone for tastings of their popular organic, handcrafted, exceptional wines.

Stop At: Waipara Hills, 780 Glasnevin Road, Waipara 7473 New Zealand

Your third stop is the stunning property of Waipara Hills who offer a premium selection of wines that showcases the very best varietals of the South Island regions of New Zealand.

Stop At: Pegasus Bay Winery, 263 Stockgrove Road RD2, Amberley, Christchurch 7482 New Zealand

Finally make a stop at Pegasus Bay, owned by the Donaldson Family who have been seriously involved in wine production since the 1970s and were one of the pioneers of wine making in the region. Enjoy some unique wine from this winery.
