For over hundred years passengers have enjoyed the magnificent views of our growing cityscape and the surrounding hills that define Wellington's harbour. It offers a charming escape from the busy city streets to the tree lined walkways of the Botanic Gardens.

Enjoy multiple attractions all at once when you arrive at the summit. The Cable Car Museum (free entry), Botanic Garden (free entry), Space Place and Zealandia (via free shuttle).

Cable Car tickets can be purchased online prior to arrival or at the Ticket Office at arrival. Tickets are valid for 6 months after purchase. We recommend purchasing your tickets online to avoid any potential queues, especially during summer in Wellington. The Cable Car journey takes about 5 minutes to travel one way. Once you arrive at the top you can walk down through the beautiful Botanic Gardens (20 - 30 minutes). If you purchase a return journey you can return at anytime.
