Hiking with moose

A beautiful experience in wild nature where you will learn a lot about the moose and its natural environment.

Itinerary

At 15.00h our guide will pick you up at Akershusstranda 13 in the centre of Oslo. From there you will be transported in one of our vehicles for about 20 minutes to the edge of the forest where the hike will start. We will hike by foot or by snowshoes, partly on trails and partly through the bush in a dense forest where there are lots of moose. This is a genuin wilderness area even though it is close to Oslo.

We will walk slowly and try our best to be quiet as we try to spot these impressive animals. We do not always see animals on our tours but we always find traces of them. You will be given a pair of binoculars for use during the tour. The best chances of seeing moose is around sunset and later. When the season requires it you will also be given a headlamp for use during the tour.

After a while we will take a break and the guide will prepare a light evening meal, for example moose meat, salad and lingonberry served in pita bread or as a hamburger. If conditions are right we might also make a campfire during the break. After the break we continue our hike and will eventually end up where we started for transport back to Oslo where you will arrive around 20.00h in the evening.
