Wild reindeer safari
The wild reindeer herd on the Norefjell mountain plateau is the most easily accessible throughout Northern Europe. Join our experienced guide on a full-day tour for an adventure you will never forget.
Itinerary
The reindeer is a herd animal with a nomadic way of life, ie it makes larger or smaller migrations between different seasonal pastures. During the period May / June to October our herd normally stays on the Norefjell mountain plateau. Of course, we cannot guarantee that you will see the reindeer herd, but we do cooperate with the local wild reindeer inspection authorities, who at all times know where the herd is staying.
Wild reindeer safari is a full-day mountain hike that requires you to be in moderate physical shape. Remember to bring a backpack with packed lunch, plenty of drinking water and extra clothing. Dress according to the weather conditions and wear hiking boots with good support. Bring binoculars and camera if you have.
The Norefjell-Reinsjøfjell wild reindeer area is characterized by hilly mountain terrain, with adjoining forest areas. The Norefjell Massif in the southeast is a high mountain plateau with soft and calm lines and well-visible mountain peaks. The area has a typical inland climate with cold winters and relatively little snowfall, which provides good conditions for the reindeer, throughout the year.
