The Snake Trail Adventure

Wadi Bani Awf is a wadi (gorge) in the Ad Dakhiliyah Region of Oman. The Al-Aufi tribe is originally from Wadi Bani Awf, In Rustaq. It is a great tourist attraction and is well known for its beautiful scenery.
If you love excitement, adventure, and winding mountain roads, you’ll find a challenge in Wadi Bani Awf (Also called the Snake Canyon), Al Batinah South Governorate .
To traverse this road, you must have a four-wheel drive, and the driver must be an expert in mountain driving. The road is very steep, and it takes about 3 hours to cross this wadi.
You will have to swim sometimes, or jump, but excitement is guaranteed! The road goes along a 5 metre (15 feet) wide path that is more than 100 meters (300 feet) high in places.
There are wires connecting both sides of the wadi, which the adventurous use to cross from one side to the other.

Itinerary

ITINERAY:
1. 06: 30 departure from Muscat. Our guide will meet you at your accommodation.
2. Drive 2 hours to reach Snake Canyon. In the way we will see the village of Al Awabi, which is a beautiful track which will take you towards the mountain roads, on both sides of the road you have beautiful mountains and on one side of the road you can see a small wadi as well.
3. 8:30 arrive at Snake Canyon.
4. After safety introduction we begin the walk.
5. After 60 min we reach beautiful 3 meter high cliff.
6. below the cliff is fresh water where we will swim.
7. 12:00 Picnic Lunch will be served
8. 13:00 short refreshment break
9. Continue exploring the Wadi
10. 16:30 PM assemble at end point
11. 18:30 back in Muscat.
