8Day Machu Picchu Rainbow Mountain and Puno from Cusco

Day 1: Arrival in Cusco, open day

At your arrival, in the Cusco´s airport we will be waiting you to transfer to the hotel to rest and climatize; this day is free day.

Day 2: Cusco-Sacred Valley-Machu Picchu (B, L)

8am: Pick up from the hotel and drive toward to Pisaq; 8:45am: Visit Pisaq ruins; 10am: Pisaq market; 12:30pm: Lunch in Urubamba; 1:45pm: Visit Ollantaytambo; 4:36pm: Train to Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu; 6:09pm: Arrival and transfer to the hotel.

Day 3: Machu Picchu Tour-Return to Cusco (B, L)

At 7am, climb by bus to Machu Picchu. Arriving around 8am, take a guided tour to Machu Picchu. Enjoy a 2-hour guided tour exploring the most important temples and learning about the history of the site. Leave for Aguas Calientes at 12pm and enjoy lunch around 1:30pm with extra time to explore. Once finished, depart on a train to Ollantaytambo at 4:12pm. Arriving at 5:50pm and head to your hotel in Cusco by car (2 hours´s travel), arriving at approx. 8pm.

Day 4: Rainbow Mountain Trek (B, L)

Pick you up at 3am. The drive to the trailhead at Quesiuno (4,326 m/ 14,189 ft) is 3 hours long. 7am continental breakfast. We then start off on our hike. We will have consistent views of the Ausangate Mountain. After a total hike of approximately 3 hours, we finally reach our destination, what we came to see…the Rainbow Mountain (5,020 m/16,466 ft). You will have time to explore the area and take pictures. We will spend approx. 30 minutes at the top. At this point, it is time to go back down. The van will be waiting for us. We will embark on the 3 hours’ drive back to Cusco (arriving around 8pm) and drop you off on the bus station to take a comfortable bus to Puno departing at 10pm.

Day 5: Puno-Uros-Amantani Island (B, L, D)

Arrival around 6am. Pick you up from the bus station and go to the port to take you on a motor boat excursion on the waters of Lake Titicaca. We will visit the unique floating island of the Uros, inhabited by many families. Then we will continue to Amantani island, where we will have lunch. We will spend the night and have dinner at the house of a local family, with a typical show.

Day 6: Amantani-Taquile-Puno-Cusco.

After breakfast we will continue towards Taquile island, walk for 40 minutes until arriving in the town. Visit different traditional sites there. Later in the afternoon will return to Puno to take the bus to Cusco departing at 10pm and arriving to Cusco at 5:00am.

Day 7: Cusco City tour (B)

2pm start the city tour visiting the Inca Temple of the Sun, Tambomachay, Qengo, Puca Pucara, Sacsayhuaman and the Cathedral. Finishing the tour around 6pm.

Day 8: Cusco to Lima (B)

At the convenience hour you will be transfer to the airport to take a flight to your next destination.
