City Tour Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu 3d2n Private Tour

Some travelers only have a short time but still want to explore all the sacred places around Cusco and Machu Picchu. It is a good combination en 3 days you will be able to visit the inca ruins around Cusco included the colonial part of the city (2 places in the city and 4 places outside of the city), you will explore the amazing sacred valley of the Incas and spend one over night at Aguas Calientes (5 places to visit ) and finally to visit the incredible sacred city of the Incas Machu Picchu, in three days you will be able to learn and explore so many places.

Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco City Tour – Inca Ruins

Stop At: Centro Historico De Cusco, Cusco 08002 Peru
We will pick you up from your hotel lobby at 10:30 a.m. to start our tour. This fascinating City Tour in Cusco takes you through the Plaza de Armas, San Pedro Market, the most important colonial church’ Cathedral of Cusco, the Temple of the Sun ”Qoricancha”, 4 Inca archaeological sites which are outside of the city. (Saqsayhuman, Qenqo, Pucapucara and tambomachay)

This tour will take you to local sites which are not included in most other tours. You will meet by your guide at your hotel and we will walk to the bustling San Pedro market, where many Cusqueños people start their day. We will stop to have some coffee or tea and take a tour of the stands that sell everything from fruits and vegetables, meats and medicinal plants. You will then be led on a tour of the most important historical sites of Cusco including the Plaza de Armas and the main cathedral. In the cathedral, you can see a massive silver altar and a painting of the last supper where they are eating guinea pig. We will also give you a tour of Coricancha, which was the most sacred Inca temple dedicated to the sun God. When the Spaniards arrived to Cusco, they demolished the temple, using the existing foundation on which to build a colonial church. We will then have lunch in a local restaurant where you can taste cuy (guinea pig).

After lunch, we will drive 30 minutes to Tambomachay which was the Inca temple of the water, and then we’ll visit Pukapucara which was a ceremonial place of the Incas. Then we will visit the the Unesco world heritage site of Sacsayhuaman. Located on a steep outcropping overlooking Cusco, this Inca site is composed of massive boulders held together without mortar. It was an important site for military and ceremonial purposes. You will be given a private tour of the site and we will go to a vista where there are great views overlooking the city of Cusco and we can enjoy the sunset. We will also visit some other amazing Inca sites nearby such as Return by private transport to your hotel in Cusco.

Day 2: Awanacancha – Pisaq – Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes.

Stop At: Sacred Valley of the Incas, 0051 Peru
We are coming to pick you up from your Hotel in Cusco with our private transportation at 7:30 a.m. And then we go in direction to our journey the sacred valley. First place to be visited you will go to the alpaca and llama farm awanacancha where you will see Alpacas, Llamas, Guanacos, and vicuñas and your tour guide will give you background information, and you’ll learn how to do the different between llama and alpaca and also your guide will show you the local museum of potatoes and a textile center.

Showing how the local people process alpaca wool before becoming in souvenirs. You can purchase at places, it has the most quality alpaca souvenirs. And then we’ll drive to the view point of the sacred valley (lookout point), where you’ll have the impressive views of the valley. Following our tour we will drive to Pisaq the first visit Inca ruins.

At Pisaq ruins you can see magnificent views of the Inca remains, terraces, the largest Inca tombs (over 300 tombs), army sector, and temples, etc. We have around 2 hours to visit where your guide will explain all the information. And then before we return to the valley we visit the most colorful and traditional local market Pisaq where you can purchase traditional textiles at low prices. The market is open every day, but on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays are most popular days because also the locals get their supplies.

Following the journey continues as we’ll drive along the beautiful valley with great scenery you will be able to see the corn farmlands, potatoes, the incredible quinoa, and much more, which are farming on the Inca terraces.

And then we’ll arrive at Urubamba town around 13:00 pm for our lunch. You will have an amazing selection of fresh dishes, served buffet-style (included). Afterwards we will drive for 30 minutes more to get the last Inca ruins as known as Ollantaytambo (Inca palace, water temple, sun temple, Inca terraces, etc).

This Inca site was built with pink granite rocks where you can see the second biggest rock from the Inca’s time (85 tons). This living Incan town displays narrow walkways, lined with water channels. You will later take the train from Ollantaytambo station to Aguas Calientes, which is 1 hour and 45 minutes journey. During the journey in the train you will see amazing views, so be sure you have your camera ready and try to stay awake.

The train schedule will depend on how far in advance you are booking to get the availability of the train. So train ticket we confirm you once you book it.

When you will be arriving in Aguas Calientes town, you will meet our representative who will drop you off at your accommodation. At Aguas Calientes town you will have free time to do whatever you want to do for the nightlife. And also you can have dinner at any places there are so many choices.
