Coffee or Cocoa tour and Machu Picchu 2d1n

During the tour, you will discover a Peruvian province (La Convencion) in the mountainous jungle that tourists rarely visit. You will learn and experience yourself the making of a product that you consume frequently: chocolate or coffee. You will understand the lifestyle of local farmers and will be able to chat with them.

On the second day, you will discover one of the 7 wonders of the world which is the secret Incan citadel of Machu Picchu.

Itinerary

Day 1: Coffee or Cocoa planation tour (your choice)

Stop At: Huayopata Rodeo, 08700, Peru
The family will guide you around the farm, explain the work that is performed on the farm, and show you the range of products that are harvested to support their family. Here, you will also be able to taste the available fruits in season. You will also experience the making of chocolate paste and hot chocolate and then will taste it accompanied with fruits and honey.

Stop At: Quechuas Lucmabamba Bio Domes, Baiona, Lucmabamba, Santa Teresa 08710, Peru
Around 14:00 we will depart from the farm in direction to the Hydroelectric station near Santa Teresa, We will make a couple of stops, as this road passes through a beautiful vegetated canyon and we can also make a special stop at Dwight Aguilar's coffee farm(the 2018 Peruvian cup of coffee winner) were you will get to quickly tour his farm and buy some of his coffee if you wish to.

Stop At: Hot Springs (Aguas Calientes), Signposted from main square, Aguas Calientes, Machu Picchu Peru
Around 17h you will arrive at the Hydroelectric station were you shall take a 30 min train(at your expense) to Aguas Calientes. The activities for the rest of the day will be yours to choose
Duration: 30 minutes

Meals included:
• Lunch: The tour will be followed by a locally prepared meal by the family that you shall enjoy with freshly pressed fruit juice
Accommodation included: Night at Aguas Calientes in a hostel, if you wish to you can upgrade your stay at a 3-star hotel for an additional 20$

Day 2: Machu Picchu

Stop At: Santuario Historico de Machu Picchu, Machu Picchu Peru
Early in the morning, a bus from Aguas Calientes will take you to the Machu Picchu entrance where you will take a tour of Machu Picchu with your guide for about 2 hours, and then you will have the opportunity to explore the citadel on your own to take the best photos and soak in the scenery
Duration: 3 hours

Stop At: Archaeological Park Ollantaytambo, Ollantaytambo 08676 Peru
After lunch that you shall take at your expense, you will head back to Ollantaytambo by train(ticket included), and from there to Cusco, our private driver will take you back to your hotel.
