Stop At: Plaza de Armas del Cusco, Cusco 08002 Peru

Begin your tour with a pick-up from your accommodation in Cusco and a brief overview of the tour. From your hotel, we will head to Cusco main square - Plaza de Armas. It is here where many of Cusco’s important festivals and gatherings take place. Along with your guide’s repertoire of historical facts, you will be immersed in Cusco’s vibrant history while admiring the plaza’s well-kept gardens, wide stone pathways, prominent water fountain, and surrounding stone arcades.

Stop At: Museo Inka, Cuesta del Almirante 103, Cusco Peru

To complete the visit in Plaza de Armas, we will visit the Museo Inka, just 2 minutes away from the plaza, where you will learn some more about the ancient history of the Inkas, their predecessors and Machu Picchu.

Stop At: Qorikancha, Plazoleta de Santo Domingo, Cusco Peru

From Plaza de Armas, we will continue by foot via narrow cobblestone streets to the Qorikancha; also known as the Temple of the Sun, and now housed inside the Convent of Santo Domingo. Considered to be the most important temple during the Inka Empire, this temple was built in dedication to the Sun. Although mostly destroyed during the 16th century, much of its stonework foundation can still be seen. The Qoricancha is one of the best preserved and most comprehensive museums in the region. Your visit to the Qorikancha is sure to leave you in awe from the precision and intricateness of Inka masonry.

Stop At: Mercado Central de San Pedro, Tupac Amaru, Cusco 08003 Peru

This tour would not be complete without a stroll through the city’s most archetypal market - the San Pedro market. We will walk to San Pedro market after our visit to the Qoricancha to enjoy an all-around sensory experience. The colourful stalls and displays, the fragrant smells of all the fruits and vegetables, the medley of textures found in the products and the continuous lively buzz of the market will give you an up- and-close encounter with one of the most important aspects of locals’ daily life.

At the end of the tour, we will make our way back to Plaza de Armas where you may choose to stay and enjoy some more of the city’s atmosphere or return to your hotel (on your own).
