Operates: We will visit the Andean community of Misminay, in the outskirts of Cusco, where you will be able to live with the tradition preserving by locals. The tour to the village goes through native botanical species crop fields, using a narrow and winding path that will take us to the village, located at 3,700 meters over sea level and a natural balcony with a spectacular view to the Sacred Valley of the Incas and the snow-covered mountains. Families live along in small single or double room houses, made out of adobe. They raise guinea pigs (cuyes), cattle and sheep. You will be able to plow or harvest the soil, depending on the time of the year, appreciate a toast to honor the earth—ceremony in honor of Mother Earth— and enjoy a traditional lunch cooked by the ladies of Misminay, with naturally cultivated ingredients from their camps. Additionally, you will observe the ladies spinning, wool dyeing with natural ingredients, and lastly tapestry knitting, according to the ancient techniques.
