The Condor Flight in Apurimac Canyon is one of the newest tourist circuit in Cusco, located in the community of Chonta - Limantambo -  Cusco. This tour is highly recommended for birds watching and nature lover peoples, where you will see beautiful landscapes, snow-capped mountains, rivers, valleys and finally the flight of the condor in its natural habitat.

Average time of the Excursion (05:00am – 18:00pm)

We will leave the city of Cusco in the morning at 5:00 am, taking the paved route from Cusco until Limatambo. Then by unpaved route until chonta community 3,400 meter sea level. From there we will start an hour walk to the Condor Canyon where we will enjoy the flight of the condor. then on the way back to Cusco we will enjoy lunch in limatambo and then visiting the archaeological site of tarawasi.  Finally we will drive back to Cusco.

ITINERARY:

CUSCO - CHONTA - CONDOR VIEW POINT AT APURIMAC CANYON - TARAWASI - CUSCO

05:00AM We will leave the city of Cusco in the morning at 5:00 am, (PICK UP TIME), taking the paved route from Cusco until Limatambo. Then by unpaved route until chonta community 3,400 meter sea level. On the way to CHONTA it will take about 3 hour drive.

08:00am we will have a time for get ready and have some snacks before our 1 hour walk from Chonta to the View point of the condor which is a moderate level of walking.

09:00am Once in the view point of the condors, we will get ready to comtemplate and await for the condor´s flight over the canyon of Apurimac Valley. (get ready your equipment for pictures and videos like Cameras, video film, vinoculares.

The viewpoint of the condor is located on the right side of the Canyon of Apurimac River up of 3300 meter sea level, from where we will see the deepest canyon of South America and the home of the Andean Condor. Here you will appreciate too the majestic flight of the Andean condor, considered Sacred Bird of the Inca civilization.

The Condor before to get in there nest, they fly for long time over the canyon and some time is possible to see very close and more of 10 condor flying over your head. Undoubtedly will be an unforgettable experience for you.

11:00am After having witnessed the condor flight we will return by feet 1 hour walking until Chonta then by car drive to Limatambo. we will leave the community of Chonta at 12:oopm.

12:00pm We will continue until our typical restaurant located in Limatambo where we will enjoy the most delicious Peruvian buffet lunch

14:00pm  We will enjoy a visit after lunch of the templo of TARAWASI. Temple and Tambo of the Inca. The most important of this archaeological site is the perfect construction, with trapezoidal niches and polygonal walls. Where you can see margaritas flowers on the decorations of this Incas constructions.

15:30PM  We will take our private Car to drive back until Cusco city. Arrival time to Cusco approximately: 18:00.p.m.

18:00pm We will drove you at your Hotel in Cusco.
