Inca Jungle 4 days
If you want to live an incredible adventure through the jungle while traveling to Machu Picchu, the Inca Jungle is your best option. It is a 4-day tour that combines exercise, adventure and archaeology all while doing different sports. Biking trails, rafting journeys, trekking on the paths of the Inca Trail, zip-lining in Santa Teresa and to relax, bathing in the spectacular hot springs of Cocalmayo.
Itinerary
Day 1: Cusco - Bicicleta - Rafting - El Grifo
Stop At: Cusco 08007, Peru
We will be picked up from our hotel in Cusco at 6:30 in the morning to start the journey by minibus. At 11 am we will arrive at Abra Malaga, the starting point of our Tour to Machu Picchu. We will receive our equipment and start a 65 km (3 hour) bike route to Huamanmarca, from where the minibus will take us to Santa Maria.

We will have lunch at a typical restaurant in Santa María and rest before going on with the adventure. At this point we have two different options on how to continue: keep following the road to Santa Rosa with an assistant guide or rafting to a place very close to Santa Rosa (rafting is available in tour extras, $30.00). In Santa Rosa we will meet up with our whole group to make the last stretch of the road on foot again: the mere 20 minutes that separate us from our accommodation in El Grifo.

Day 2: Santa Rosa - Colcamayo - Santa Teresa
Stop At: quellomayo, 28B, 08750, Peru
We will have breakfast at 6 o'clock in the morning to start our route on the Inca Trail early. The famous Inca Trail runs along the slopes of several imposing mountains. During the trip we will make several stops to appreciate the landscape and rest, until we arrive at Keyomallo where we will have lunch together.

Stop At: Aguas Termales Cocalmayo de Santa Teresa, 08710, Peru
After lunch we will make the next stretch of the route, which will take us to the hot springs of Cocalmayo. Once at the hotsprings we will have free time to relax, take a bath and enjoy the surrounding environment. We will end this days route with a walk of 40 minutes to reach Santa Teresa.There we will have free time to go for a walk and have a drink in one of its typical bars. Finally, we will have dinner and spend the night in a friendly family hostel.

Day 3: Santa Teresa - Hydroelectric - Aguas Calientes
Stop At: Estacion Peru Rail a Hidroelectrica, Aguas Calientes 08681, Peru
We will have our breakfast at 7 in the morning and start our way to hydroelectric. During the trip we will have the option to participate in some zip-lining along the route(available in the tour extras, $30.00).

We will arrive at Hydroelectric and we will eat at one of the restaurants before beginning the last stage of our journey: a 9 km route that goes along the train tracks, located at the bottom of an incredible valley in which the vegetation has been completely transformed into high jungle (alternatively we can take the train to Aguas Calientes, $30.00).

Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes we'll leave our luggage in one of the lodgings and have free time to get to know the town, its market or simply relax with a bath in the famous hot springs (Entry fee: $5.00). At the end of the afternoon we will meet again with the whole group. Together, we will have dinner in a local restaurant and plan the next day, in which we will visit Machu Picchu.

Day 4: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Ollantaytambo - Cusco
Stop At: Machu Picchu, 08680, Peru
In order to see the sunrise in Machu Picchu we will have to get up fairly early. Around four am we will have breakfast and start the ascend to Machu Picchu, which will take roughly one hour and a half. Alternatively we have the option to get there by bus ($24.00 round trip).

Stop At: Machu Picchu, 08680, Peru
We will access the citadel of Machu Picchu at 6 o'clock in the morning to watch the sunrise and enjoy a unique moment. Later we will join a guided on tour of roughly two hours, where the guide will tell us all the secrets and the history of Machu Picchu. Afterwards, we will have time to continue exploring on our own before we return to Aguas Calientes.

Stop At: Archaeological Park Ollantaytambo, Ollantaytambo 08676 Peru
We will return to Aguas Calientes by walking (or by bus if we have chosen that option) and upon arrival we will have time to wander around and eat on our own. After lunch we will start the way back to Cusco by train to enjoy the views during the 1:30 hour trip that will take us to Ollantaytambo.

Once we arrive in Ollantaytambo, there will be a minibus waiting for us to take us safely back to the center of Cusco, where our adventure will come to an end.
