Lamay Village Experience
Visiting local homes and learning about the guinea pig breeding, corn beer fermentation process, dyeing with plants is a great introduction to local andean culture. You will be paying a fee per person and supporting the preservation of culture and this traditional activities that might be lost as they are not economically profitable. Lamay is an authentic village that represents the old style life at the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Itinerary
This activity consists in visiting Lamay, a traditional and not touristic village in the
Sacred Valley of the Incas. Arriving at La Base, we will have a brief interpretation of the
activities of the village and the agricultural labor in the fields.
Then we will walk in the village and visit some traditional houses and local businesses,
such as the sheds for guinea pig breeding, the traditional ¨Chicherias¨ of corn beer,
the ¨Pichinku¨ natural dyes project and other local activities Lamay has to offer.
Back to La Base Lamay for a coffee or a craft beer.
Finally return to your hotel or continue with new activities.
