Itinerary

Day 1: cusco-mollepata-challacancha-soraypampa – Lake Humantay — distance 12 klm (5 hours)

Pass By: Salkantay Trail, Peru
We will pick you up from your hotel between 4:20 a.m. to 4:50 a.m. then we will drive to the town of Mollepata which is located at a height of 2900mt-9514 ft which is at a distance of 2.hours approximately from Cusco where We will take a rest for about 20 minutes. Then we will continue our journey towards the place of challacancha which is the beginning of the walk that has as a height 3600 mt-11500 ft. Then we will have approximately 5 hours of travel until arriving at the base of the camp called soraypampa that has as height 3912 mt -12834 ft, where we will have a lunch enjoying the panoramic view of the mountains and its geography as -the snowy of humantay 4200 mt-13779 Ft and also the snowfall of the salkantay 6271 mt-20575 ft after a rest we will make an acenso for 1 hour towards the lagoon of humantay and then we will return to the base of the camp where we will have the time of the tea and also the dinner.

Day 2: soraypampa-salkantay pass-huayrapunku-chaullay — distance 22 klm (9 hours)

This is the most difficult day, for this reason we wake up at 5:00 am and breakfast will be 5:30 am our walk will start at 6:00 am, to make an acent for about 3 hours to reach the pass of salkantay 4630 Mt-15190 ft, where we will have a traditional Andean ceremony with the whole group, then we will make a descent to the place of huayrapunku 3912 mt-12834 ft where we will have a lunch and then we will continue towards the second camp chaullay -2900 mt -9514 ft

Day 3: CHAULLAY – COLLPAPAMPA – LA PLAYA – SANTA TERESA

Pass By: Salkantay Trail, Peru
Around 7:30 am; we will start our trek to La Playa through the Santa Teresa valley. We will hike 6 hours approximately during the hike will see: water fall, orchids, coffee, banana, avocado plantations and we will taste the famous passion fruit or granadilla and also we will see a village call Colpapampa also call the “forest cloudy brow” where waterfalls, thermal hot springs, fruit-bearing trees, varied flora, and birds can be observed. If we are lucky, we will be able to see the famous bird called “the Cock of the Rocks”. After lunch at La playa, we will catch a local transportation to Santa Teresa. Where will have aur overnight ,In the afternoon we may go to Santa Teresa´s hot spring to enjoy it. Then back at the campsite for happy hours and dinner.

Day 4: SANTA TERESA – HIDROELECTRYC – AGUAS CALIENTES

After of our delicious breakfast we are going to walk approximately 7 hours. Around 8:30 a.m. we start our trek to Colpani village we will have the opportunity to see coca farms, mandarin, orange and yucca. And a lovely view of the Santa Teresa Valley. We follow along the riverside of Vilcanota River until arrive to the Oroya (cable bridge) then we keep going to Hidroelectrica where will have our lunch. After lunch we going to walk along the train track but on the base of Machupicchu and Waynapicchu Mountain from the way we will see Machupicchu. After two a half hours hike we will be at Aguas Calientes town: base town of Machupicchu for overnight in hostal, dinner at local restaurant.

Day 5: Machupicchu-Hidroelectrica - Cusco

Today early in the morning after breakfast at the hostal ,Walk up to Machupicchu. Or bus to Machupicchu. Any way we will be the first ones into Machupicchu to enjoy the sunrise and you will have two a half hours guided tour. Then you will have the free time to explore Machupicchu by yourselves or if you desire, ascent toward the Huaynapicchu Mountain. Or climb to Machupicchu montaña (20 usd extra,we have to see availavility) After Machupicchu you will walk 3 hours back to hidroeléctrica,then 6 hours minivan to cusco.
We drop you back in plaza san francisco.
