Tambopata Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick 3 Days
On this trip to the Tambopata Reserve, we will start our trip in a small car, approximately one hour. then we will arrive at the tambopata river there a motorized boat waits us that will take us to our lodge . the trip in motorized boat is approximated to 1 hour in the way we will see biodiversity. There we will spend 2 nights in the middle of the jungle in a comfortable lodge, the attraction of this place is to spot the clay lick of macaws. hundreds of parrots gather to eat the clay . It is a beautiful activity to see them since it is the only place where you can observe also we will have walks in a primary forest where we can see a lot of biodiversity. we will have night walks and much more. after to being 3 days in the amzonia we will be back to the city of Puerto Maldonado in our own transport.
Itinerary
Day 1: Puerto Maldonado Tambopata Jungle Walking
Stop At: Tambopata National Reserve Peru
Arrival at the airport or bus station and transfer to our office. Our guide will explain you about the tour, before leaving to our adventure. In case you have big luggage, we suggest re pack to store the not needed items and carry just enough for the trip.
Land transfer (4X4) wheeled truck to our destination for about 1 hour to reach the banks of the Tambopata River, by river will take more than 1 hours (just information). In this place we will take a boat to our lodge.
In the afternoon, after lunch we lets explore a wonderful place, walking into the rainforest where we will have the opportunity to see animals in their natural habitat as amphibians, mammals, reptiles and wonderful insects, among others species.

Day 2: Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick Spotting Caiman & Jungle Exploring
Stop At: Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick, Tambopata National Reserve 17500 Peru
We wake up very early, at 4:30 am, to go on an incredible journey by boat to the worlds largest macaw clay lick EL CHUNCHO, a journey of about 1:30 hours by boat, on the way we will have the opportunity to see some species such as capybaras, which is the worlds largest rodents, tapirs, and you can even see the most beautiful South American feline, jaguar , many of our clients are witnesses with photographic evidence of encounters with these beautiful mammals.
After arrival to the Tambopata Macaw Clay Licks you will see hundreds of parrots of different species come to eat clay adjacent to the river on the wall, we will accommodate us in our chairs to wait to begin one of the most beautiful natural sights of birds in the world. A parrots are followed by 3 species of the most colorful macaws of America, reds and greens, blues and yellows come to gather to eat clay needed in the daily diet and eliminate toxins. On a good day of activity you will see hundreds of these wonderful animals flying over you. An experience for life.Return to our lodge, for lunch and resting time.
-Then we will walk through the botanical garden where you can see some fruit, timber and medicinal species in our area. In the afternoon we will have the opportunity to explore the jungle , we will have more opportunity to observe the larger animals on the forest of the Tambopata Reserve. For the night off to rest or possibility of another night walk .

Day 3: Tambopata Lodge / Puerto Maldonado City Airport or Bus Station
Stop At: Puerto Maldonado, Puerto Inca Province, 10260, Peru
This day very early we will have a walk in the forest to see more biodiversity later we will return to the lodge to have a good breakfast After breakfast, our boat takes us to transport back to Puerto Maldonado, the same route back, we will return back to the town. Arrival in Puerto Maldonado and transfer to the airport terminal.
