Tambopata (Puerto Maldonado) 5 Days
Seeing some of the spectacular and exotic animals that live in the rainforest is one of the main goals of every eco travel trip to the Amazon. The amazing biodiversity in the Peruvian jungle is also its principal claim to fame and folks on family green travel vacations come to the rainforest with high hopes of experiencing troops of Squirrel Monkeys running and jumping through the trees, of seeing unbelievable looking toucans as they call from the treetops, or of glimpsing a jaguar in the depths of the rainforest.
Itinerary
Day 1: Welcome To The Jungle
Stop At: Puerto Maldonado, Puerto Inca Province, 10260, Peru
Our local expert guide will be waiting for you at the airport where you will meet up with him/her, then you drive to the Madre de Dios rivers wharf from where we will take our boat downstream to get to our lodge, once we arrive the lodge we will enjoy a welcome exotic juice, and make our check-in next the lodge receptionist we will take you for a mini stroll in our bungalows and at the same time to show you the facilities of the lodge. Then we will plunge into the jungle to observe the amazons wildlife, where you will get a rich history about this part of Peru recounted by our tour guide, at his place you could see birds as toucans, orioles, trogons, macaws, etc. mammals like monkeys and reptiles like snakes. After that we will come back to the lodge for lunch, then we will visit the Monkey island where we will see the capuchin monkeys, we will enjoy watching them. Eventually we will come back to the lodge. In the evening we will get ready for a safari on the river to see the caimans, so that you have to take a flashlight to get the caimans eyes light that way to see them with red eyes, you could also see capybaras (the biggest rodent in the world that might weight up to 60-kl / 120-pound), after having fun with the caimans we sail back to the lodge where we have a delicious dinner.

Day 2: Sandoval Lake
Stop At: Lago Sandoval, Ruta 30C s/n Calle Marquez 250 Interior Oficina 11 Segundo Piso, Puerto Maldonado 08000 Peru
After having a typical breakfast, we will walk for half-hour, then to take the boat to Sandoval lake which is habitat of the giant river otters, after that we will sail on the canoe, along the river the friendly monkeys like: howler monkey, squirrel monkey, capuchin brown monkey, tamarinds, and others will delight our morning, and many species of birds like hoatzin, cormorant, jacanas, tiger-heron, vultures will be seen, it is possible to see family of giant otters (mammal in endangered), and giant alligators. After having a great time we will come back to the lodge to have a typical and succulent lunch, at dusk we will enjoy the sunset over Madre de Dios river, eventually, dinner at night and we will go to bed.

Day 3: Zip Lining
Stop At: Lago Sandoval, Ruta 30C s/n Calle Marquez 250 Interior Oficina 11 Segundo Piso, Puerto Maldonado 08000 Peru
Another great day will be today, After a typical breakfast, we go for a short walk through the canopy walk-way which is about 40m / 131feet high, from this point well have a great panoramic view of the Madre de Dios river, and this point will allow us to observe different species of birds as toucans, trogons, macaws, tanagers, orioles, etc. After that we will have time for a great adventure and challenge where you have the chance to fly upon the trees through the zip-lining, you will feel like spider monkey when you practice the tree climbing, etc. so the adrenaline will be so intense, there will be a specialist who will give you all the instructions that you need to know. After having a lot of fun, we walk back to the lodge. Subsequently we will have another activity that consists in visiting the wild boards clay lick. At night we will end the day having a succulent dinner, then to sleep.

Day 4: Macaw's Clay Lick
Stop At: Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick, Tambopata National Reserve 17500 Peru
We will wake up very early in the morning to have breakfast, right away to visit the Chuncho macaw clay lick; in which, we will see great show of the noisy parrots and macaws, these birds come to lick this clay because the clay contains minerals, and salts with digestive properties, at this lick clay we will observe macaws and parrots as dark blue head, chirricles, maracan, blue and yellow macaw, red and green macaw, scarlet macaw, and other birds. After that we will go back to our lodge, on the way back it is possible to see alligators, turtles, capybaras, jaguar, tapir along the Tambopata river. In the afternoon we go for a short walk into the jungle to get the Tambopata river where we fish piranhas, and other fish for fun. At night we will have another activity for which we will have a night walk where you can see a variety of insects as tarantulas, toads, frogs, and many others. Eventually dinner and rest.

Day 5: Farewell

After breakfast that is organized at the lodge, we take the boat back to the city, where we go sightseeing to the important places as the local market, eventually, we will drive to the airport to take the flight back.
