This tour will show you how the Portuguese people were connected to the sea, by visiting some traditional fisherman's village with fresh seafood and some handcrafted artwork.

The tour begins with the emblematic Arrábida Nature Park, having a breathtaking scenario of natural beauty and coastal views over the Atlantic Ocean.

Next, you will visit the Craft Tile Factory, in Azeitão, where you can find out more about Portuguese ornamental art and ceramic tile work, particularly the Tile, a major feature in the Portuguese culture and architecture.

Following to a wine taste in a famous and renowned Cellar known by the Muscat wine, considered to be one of the Portuguese wine treasures.

For lunch, we recommend Sesimbra, where you can taste and enjoy a fresh fish straight from the sea.

Before returning to Lisbon, you'll visit the Setubal city cultural heritage, namely the Monastery of Jesus of Setubal, the Saint Julian Church and the 16th century fortress of Saint Filipe.

Stop At: Castelo de Palmela, Palmela 2950-997 Portugal

The Palmela Castle is the Medieval fortress that was home of the warrior monks of the military Order of Santiago de la Espada. For centuries they lived there and founded the monastery known for its gothic style. This castle was first conquered in the 12th century by the troops of Afonso Henriques, the first Portuguese king, but was successively conquered and destroyed by the Christians and the Mours until the late 14th century. The castle is situated between the estuaries of the Tagus river and the river Sado, in the Natural Park of Arrabida. On clear days, you can see Lisbon from up of its tower.

The Arrabida Nature Park is located next to the Atlantic Ocean, between Setubal and Sesimbra. Its incomparable natural beauty full of chalk cliffs, green vegetation, breathtaking beaches and ocean coast views makes Arrabida a natural paradise and a national relic. Here you can try various radical activities, such as climbing, speleology and diving (these activities should be done by accredited companies). Arrabida is also characterized by its natural beaches with fine sand and transparent waters. In 2010 the beach of Portinho da Arrábida was considered one of the "Seven Natural Wonders of Portugal" in the category Beaches and Cliffs. Its seabed is a nature reserve, being prohibited underwater fishing.

Famous for its wines, especially the Moscatel. Several wines and sparkling wines are produced from the Moscatel grapes, always having a sweet savor. In general, they are best served cold and accompany desserts very well.

With a unique landscape, Sesimbra is famous for its long sandy shores, like Meco Beach, and imposing cliffs (especially the Espichel Cape). The octopus rice and the Açorda de Marisco stand out mainly because they are made with fresh fish captured in the sea coasts of Sesimbra. These dishes are most appreciated in Portugal and are a gastronomic symbol of the region.

In Azeitão, there is a factory of handmade tiles that maintains the manual manufacturing process, with origins in the 18th century, using a stoneware technique. In this factory you can attend free workshops and learn about the various stages of the manufacturing process. The Azulejo is one of Portugal's most iconic art processes. You can finish the experience by painting your own tile.
