In 1756 the Douro Valley became the first classic wine region to be legally demarcated. Its vineyards were comprehensively classified the following year, almost a century before those of Bordeaux.

Visiting the Douro Valley wine region is the guarantee to discover this beautiful wine region- classified by UNESCO as World Heritage Site and get to experience beautiful landscapes and vantage points over the Douro valley, with its trademark “socalcos” or terraced vineyards.

It’s the opportunity to taste all the different wines of the Douro valley wine country, from the world famous and acclaimed vintage Port wines, which were recently nominated 2014’s best wines in the world to the prized red and white Douro wines made from genuine Portuguese grape varieties, rather than from international grapes.

During this day you will also visit the authentic and picturesque village of Pinhão considered the heart of the Valley, close or on the riverbank of the Douro “expressway”, historically focused on the commerce and transportation of the grapes and the wine, to and from Porto, in the traditional “Rabelo” boats that docked in the port.

Indulge in the local gastronomy, always varied and tasty in a picnic taking place in a wine producer with amazing views over the vineyards.
