Free Water Aqueduct

The Águas Livres Aqueduct was built by King D. João V to supply water to Lisbon, according to Manuel da Maia's project, having supplied the city from 1748.
With 14 km of extension from the main source and several subsidiary and distribution aqueducts, with a total of 58 km, supplied a network of fountains in the city.

Let's start with the Aguas Livres Aqueduct, where we will enjoy a fantastic view of the Alcântara valley.

Stop At: Mae de Agua Lisbon Aqueduct and Water Museum, Praca das Amoreiras 10, Lisbon 1250-020 Portugal

Leaving the Aqueduct we continue to Mãe d'Água (Amoreiras Reservoir), where the Aqueduct ends and then the water goes through tunnels to the city center.

Stop At: Reservatorio da Patriarcal, Praca Principe Real, Lisbon 1250-184 Portugal

Arriving at the Royal Prince's Garden we will visit the Patriarchal Reservoir, a water cistern in the garden's underground.
