Monte Velho Lusitano Horse Stud Farm Private Day Trip from Lisbon

Located in the beautiful region of the Alentejo, in a protected ecological reserve, Monte Velho Stud Farm is one of the most prestigious in breeding the world famous Lusitano Horse. We propose a day visit to Monte Velho, where visitors will have a presentation on the Stud Farm best horses, including those engaged in competitions, including a lunch and a trail ride in the afternoon.

Guests will be picked up in any location in Lisbon, around 9:30am, and will take a one hour drive to Monte Velho. After arriving, guests will be welcomed with a glass of white or rosé wine from the region, and will have a brief explanation of their Lusitano Horse breeding program.

After the explanation it will follow the presentation of some of the best mares and foals. Around 1pm, guests will be served lunch, based on Mediterranean food and flavors including wine. After lunch they will be presented with the competition horses on training, and before leaving they will have the opportunity to explore the surroundings on a Lusitano accompanied by a guide (optional feature). Guests will be driven back to Lisbon around 5pm.
