In the heart of the Sierra, more precisely in Penhas Douradas, you can find the largest glacier valley in Europe: the Rossim Valley. It is inserted in the Biogenetic Reserve of the Serra da Estrela Natural Park and in summer, receives several tourists to enjoy the river beach in the lagoon. It is a place with unique beauty that allows you to perform various activities such as rappel, canoeing and hiking.

As one of the most symbolic places in the region, Covão d´Ametade depicts a glacial depression and due to all its surrounding vegetation, this is one of the most attractive areas of the Sierra.

The Tower is the highest point, not only in Serra da Estrela but also in mainland Portugal. It is an attractive place thanks to the snow sheets formed in winter that allow various sports practices, while in summer you can enjoy a view of the Figueira da Foz sea.

Covão dos Conchos is a unique movie setting. It is a circular opening with waterfall in a pond in the Sierra. Although it seems natural, it was the hands of man who made this charm that actually serves to lead the waters of Ribeira das Naves to Lagoa Comprida.

It is located in Ribeira de Leandres and is a high point with 1100 meters. The Well of Hell is one of the ex-libris of the Sierra and is surrounded by the mother nature that is the cause of all that landscape beauty. The waterfall's waterline keeps in touch with the granite rocks, and in winter there are several times the water freezes and this creates (even more) charms to this 10 meter high natural paradise.
