The Shrine of Our Lady of The Rosário de Fátima expresses the request of Our Lady of the Rosary, alluded to on August 13, 1917 and expressly indicated in the apparition of October 13 of that year to Lucia de Jesus, Francisco Marto and Jacinta Marto: « I want to tell you to make a chapel here in my honor, that I am the Lady of the Rosary ”(First Memory of Sister Lucy). The chapel was erected in 1919 at the site of the 1917 apparitions at Cova da Iria and since then the sanctuary space has been built in response to the significant influx of pilgrims.
The Shrine of Fatima is a place of pilgrimage, reminiscent of its founding event, the apparitions of Our Lady to the three shepherds. The pastoral care of pilgrims is a fundamental element of their mission.
During the tour there is time to visit the Shrine, with the possibility of attending the Mass, and to make some purchases (souvenirs of the Shrine).

Afonso Henriques. The still-preserved medieval outbuildings make the Alcobaça Monastery a unique collection in the world, to which the later buildings from the 16th to the 18th centuries add as an important testimony to the evolution of Portuguese architecture.

The village is known for its narrow streets, where you can easily reach your destination on foot, enjoying all the streets and dwellings within the castle walls. Excellent restaurants can be found, where you can enjoy typical regional dishes, as well as several handicraft shops with typical products from the village and neighboring cities. The medieval village of Óbidos is one of the most picturesque and well-preserved in Portugal, anytime is a good time to visit the village, for the love stories that are told there and for the medieval atmosphere. Also known for the famous Ginjinha de Óbidos, which can be enjoyed in various places, preferably in a glass of chocolate.
The perimeter of the walls, reinforced by towers of square and cylindrical plan, reaches 1,565 meters, totally crossed by an adarve defended by ameado parapeito. In some places, the walls are 13 meters high.

The eastern portion of the wall forms the nucleus of the broadest castle that surrounds the castle and the village, which, extending on both sides to the south for 500 meters, closes the perimeter at the tip, called the Facho Tower.

The access is made by four doors and two shutters, highlighting the Door of the Village or Door of Our Lady of Mercy, surmounted by an inscription, there placed by the king D.João IV (1640-1656), and that reads: A Our Lady was conceived without original sin. Inside there is a chapel with a balcony, covered with tiles from the 18th century.

The pillory of the village, erected in granite. It has on one side the shield with the royal arms, and on the other the cameraman of D. Leonor, which this queen donated to the village in memory of the net in which the fishermen brought her her dead son in a hunting accident. The aqueduct of the village, with a length of 3 km, joining Mount da Usseira and Óbidos. It was built by Queen D. Catherine of Austria, wife of King João III (1521-1557), carrying the water that supplied the fountains of Óbidos.

The Cruzeiro da Memória, built in commemoration of the capture of Óbidos to the Moors by D. Afonso Henriques, marks the place where he built camp before conquering the village.
