Alvarinho is the most interesting white grape variety in Portugal. It is planted in all regions but the birthplace and its highest quality is in the Vinho verde sub-region called Monção Melgaço. We will take a trip to this unique region, where food and wine walk together to create the most memorable memories. 

Vinho verde is Portugal´s top selling wine in the world, an estimated 100 million bottles every year.

Monção and Melgaço are near Spain and influenced by our neighbouring country.

You will love this tour...

8:00am pick up at the Hotel. Travel with car (up to 4 people) or minivan (from 5 to 6 people)

10:30am arrival at the Monção Melgaço region. 

Get to know the city of Melgaço, just 2km from Spain.

11:00am visit to the vineyards and winery with the winemaker. Taste 4 wines with him and get to know more about this greape variety, unique in the world.

1:00pm Lunch at a local restaurant. Lunch consists of set menu of entrée, main dish and dessert, all local dishes, true Minho food. Includes water and half a bottle per person. All extra drinks are paid by the client. Please inform before if there are food restrictions or allergies.

4:00pm Trip to Porto.

6:30pm Arrival at the hotel
