Itinerary

Pedestrian Tour

Throughout the pedestrian walk visitors can observe and know the fortifications built during the 3rd French Invasion to Portugal.
We will begin our visit to the Torres Vedras Lines Interpretation Center in Arruda dos Vinhos where the historical background of the French Invasions will be presented and an explanation of the construction of the defensive system considered the most economical and fast of the time. Then we will start our walking tour where we will visit 3 of the 152 fortifications, the Fort of the Mill, the Fort of Carvalha and the Fort of the Blind. This route has a distance of 15 km´s and is in circuit. Along the way the visitor will be able to observe all the existing fauna and flora, as well as dazzle the surrounding landscapes.
