You have finally got to the Winter Paradise with plenty of snow in Moscow and want to go skiing or just have some great country-side experience? Then this tour is a great choice for you. You will be able to see the ancient town of Dmitrov (appr. 65 km from Moscow) with its beautiful Kremlin and churches and then head to the best Ski resort in close proximity to Moscow. Apart from skiing you can do toboggan (sledge) activities that are especially great for children or just have a nice winter walk in the forest next to the best ski slopes in Moscow area, enjoying great views and taking winter drinks at a local bar. Stop At: Dmitrov, Dmitrov, Dmitrovsky District, Moscow Oblast, Central Russia

The town of Dmitrov is located app. 65 km from Moscow (1 - 1,5 hrs drive). It is a very ancient town founded by Prince Yuriy Dolgorukiy (George 'The Long-Armed' who is also the founder of Moscow) in 1154. The small town has many well preserved historical sites dating back to centuries ago.

Stop At: Museum-Reserve Dmitrov Kremlin, Zagorskaya St., 17, Dmitrov 141800 Russia

It used to be the fortres and citadel of Dmitrov founded in 1154. The nature-reserve museum "Dmitrov Kremlin" now consists of 3 departments: the department of History and Art, which is famous for the unique collections of works decorative and applied art of the XVI-XIX centures; Historical and Military Museum where you can see the Battle Diorama, it is the only one in Moscow Region; the museum and Exhibition Complex "Russian World". The local artists and craftsmen show their works in it. You can enter the museum at your own expense

The Assumption Cathedral was built in the early 16th century and is located on the territory of the Dmitrov Kremlin. The cathedral is located in a very scenic place surrounded by trees, remanining earth fortifications and old trees. You can also enjoy lovely views from the top of that hill!

Stop At: Boris and Gleb Monastery, Minina St., 3, Dmitrov Russia

The Boris and Gleb Monastery is located to the east of the Kremlin. The first mention of this monastery is found in chronicles dating back to the 14th-century. The monastery is dominated by the Saints Boris and Gleb Cathedral, consecrated to two martyr princes killed in the 11th century. Built in 1537, this four-pillar and two-altar cathedral features three apses and one dome (the other one has not survived). Over the centuries, the cathedral has undergone multiple reconstructions and modifications. The side chapels, the porch and the tent-roofed belfry were added to it at different times.

You drive from Dmitrov to nearby Yakhroma where Channel of Moscow passes - the big artificial channel connecting Moscow river to Volga (the longest river in Europe). The channel was built by Soviet prison force in early 1930-s and is really impressive. You will make a stop to have a look at its big flood-gate that does not get frozen even in winter.

You make a short stop at Ilyinskoye village to see a typical Russian village (just around 50 inhabitants!) with an old church dating back to XIX century.

You get to Sorochany Ski resort - the largest aplpine ski resort in close proximity to Moscow. There are ski pists of up to 1,5 km, absolute height up to 225 m. A number of modern ski lifts will transport you to the top at a high speed. In addition to alpine ski you can enjoy the following activities: cross-country ski, forest walks, toboggan / sleigh (including those for kids), a number of restuarants. Ski equipment rental, instructors are also available
