This tour offers you all the ingredients for both a smooth and deep immersion. We will initiate you to the basics of the Russian language, visiting the must-see sites with a passionate and attentive guide, as well as moments of complete immersion with the locals.

Itinerary

Day 1: Discovering Moscow historical center

Stop At: Moscow, Moscow, Central Russia
ARRIVAL : If you arrive the same day by air, send us your schedule and arrival reference. We will welcome you at the airport for transfer to the hotel (around 30 mn ride).

16:00 Meeting with the group
Rendez-vous at 4 p.m. in the lobby of the hotel. We’ll then head to the bar next door for a quick welcome orientation, before beginning a first city sightseeing tour

Guided tour of the historic center
During this first day your guide will take you for a fascinating tour of Moscow historical center, including the main must-see sites and punctuated with fascinating anecdotes linking the small stories to the great history of the city ...

Day 2: Immersion Day

Stop At: Museum of Moscow Metro, Khamovnicheskiy Val, 36 Vystavochnaya Metro station on the light blue Metro line., Moscow 119048 Russia
Initiation to the Russian language
We will meet you at 9 am in the lobby of the hotel to accompany you to our language school where you will receive Russian language introductory courses. During 3 hours, certified teachers teach you the basics of the language (alphabet, usual formulas of courtesy, vocabulary and expressions) in order to acquire a certain level of autonomy that will help you to orientate yourself in the subway and in the city, solving practical questions (ask for the toilets, the prices, a train ticket, etc..) as well as getting in touch with the local population.

Soviet lunch
At lunchtime we will take you to a “Chebureshnaya”, a typical soviet restaurant very widespread in the USSR. You will enjoy typical Russian dishes, washed downed for the bravest of you, with few vodka shots.

Metro tour
The afternoon will be dedicated to the guided tour of the Moscow Metro. This underground Moscow tour will begin at Mayakovskaya metro station and will continue with the visit of the most magnificent and imposing stations, each of which has earned Moscow's metro the title of the most beautiful in the world.

Hidden Bar
In the evening we offer you a drink in the subdued atmosphere of a hidden bar right in the center of the capital

Day 3: Lenin, Kremlin and banya

Stop At: Lenin's Mausoleum, Red Square, Moscow 613310 Russia
Lenin’s Mausoleum
Meet at 9 am in the hotel lobby and head for Red Square for a visit to Lenin’s Mausoleum.

After saying goodbye to Lenin, you will be taken to the Kremlin for a guided tour of the Kremlin territory and the cathedrals of the Assumption and the Annunciation.

Caucasian Lunch

Russian traditional bania
In the evening we offer you the entrance and the cover in an authentic Russian banya in the center of the city. In Russia, "banias" are public baths in which the local population likes to go for "washing the soul and the body".
A bania session traditionally takes place in three stages, that you can repeat as much as you want: first the passage in a room heated with steam at high temperature, then plunge in cold water bath, in a lake or a river, and finally relaxation with friends. It's a great moment of conviviality and we really love it at Immersion in Russian. You will come out with the feeling of a deep well-being. An experience you won't forget!

Day 4: Discovering the “Russian Sound”

Stop At: Bolshoi Theatre, Teatralny dr., 1, Moscow 109012 Russia
Resting time

Tour in the Bolshoi district
In the late morning, our guide will take you to the prestigious Bolshoi Theatre ("Grand Theater" in Russian) for an exciting guided tour. He will then take you to visit the museum houses of illustrious Russian musicians and composers.

Classical music concert
In the evening, the Immersion team invites you to attend one of the greatest monuments of Russian culture: a concert of classical music. An art in which Russian musicians, composers and conductors have undoubtedly acquired their nobility. Prepare for an explosion of all your senses in front of the beauty of the place and the orchestra and the sublime mastery of the greatest Russian musicians.

Day 5: Moscow, cultural capital of the World

Stop At: Novodevichye Cemetery, Luzhnetskiy dr., 2, Moscow 119048 Russia
Novodevichy Monastery and Cemetery
In the morning, visit the main necropolis of Moscow and Russia: the Novodevichy cemetery where are buried several high Russian personalities - such as Chekhov and Gogol - including a large number of composers and musicians (Shostakovich, Prokofiev, Skriabin …). Then visit the Novodevichy convent that surrounds the cemetery and has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2004.

Moscow, cultural capital of the World
In the afternoon, you will take a long stroll through Moscow, which will take you to the magnificent Cathedral of Christ the Savior, then to the old factories of Red October on the island of Moscow, before crossing the bridge and arriving on the famous Tretyakov Gallery where a guided tour of the world’s largest collection of Russian icons awaits you. This grand tour will end with a stroll in the Museon Park and Gorky.

Lunch at your convenience in the Zamoskvorechye district

Zamoskvorechye is an old Moscow district. You will discover a wide range of restaurants and bars on Pyatnitskaya Street.

Hidden Bar
We will gather in the evening around a last farewell cocktail in one of our favorite bars ... except for those who decide to follow us the same evening to the Moscow station to finish this week of immersion in the city by a fantastic weekend in a traditional Russian isba lost in the forest some 600 kilometers from the capital ...

End of the journey OR transfer to Yaroslav railway station for a night departure to Galich (optional, look at our programme "a weekend in a Russian izba")
