In Staraya Ladoga fortress you will discover some of the very first milestones in Russian history having roots back to 862. You will feel yourself unique spirit of this place by witnessing the picture what has been seen by ancient sailors who's been passing this place during their long journey by the Trade route from the Varangians to the Greeks.

St. George's Church (Staraya Ladoga)
One of the oldest churches of Russia, dating from the second half of the 12th century. It is one of the few surviving pre-Mongol buildings in Russia.

Church of St. John the Baptist on Malyshevaya Hill (Staraya Ladoga)
Known since 1276, it was under direct patronage of Tsar Boris Godunov during his Tsar period from 1598 to 1605

St. Nicholas Monastery
Was built in the 12th century, According to a legend, the Monastery was founded by Saint Alexander Nevsky after The Battle of the Neva.

The reputed burial mound for Oleg of Novgorod (Wise)
Oleg of Novgorod was a Varangian prince who ruled all of the Rus' people during the late 9th and early 10th centuries.
