This 6 Day Rwanda Safari and Gorilla Trekking takes you through some of the famous tourist’s sites in Rwanda such as Akagera National & Volcanoes national park. The safari incorporates gorilla trekking, golden monkey tracking, the tour twin lakes of Ruhondo and Bulera, visit the famous Gorilla Guardians village former Iby’Iwacu cultural village, The wild game viewing including the lions, Elephants, the Buffaloes, the Topis, the Elands, the Masai Giraffes, the Roan Antelope along with aquatics like the Nile Crocodiles, the Hippos, water dwelling birds like the Shoe bill stork and Papyrus gonolecks explored on the boat cruise on Lake Ihema

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & Transfer To Kigali Hotel.

Pass By: Kigali International Airport, KN 5 Rd, Kigali, Rwanda
Following your arrival at Kigali international airport, our representative together with your driver / guide will be waiting to welcome you and later transfer you to your hotel in Kigali for dinner and an overnight stay.

Arrive at Hotel Des Mille Collines for check in; dinner & overnight.

Day 2: Kigali City Tour & Transfer To Akagera National Park.

Stop At: Kigali Genocide Memorial, KG 14 Ave, Kigali Rwanda

08:00 Am, after breakfast, before making your way to Akagera National Park, you will embark on a city tour of the cleanest and friendliest city in Africa. The tour offers in-depth knowledge of Kigali’s bitter past and its bright future assuring that you feel a connection with the vibrant city’s heartbeat.

Lunch at one of the best restaurant in town. After having your lunch around 12:45 Pm, our tour guide will drive you to eastern part of Rwanda to Akagera National Park. Arriving in the Akagera National Park (2, 5 Hrs away from Kigali), transfer to headquarters for registration and then proceed on Boat ride on Lake Ihema.

After the Boat trip, you driver guide will transfer you to your lodge, Ruzizi Tented Lodge for check in; dinner & Overnight.

Day 3: Full Day Game Drive & Transfer To Volcanoes National Park.

07:00 Am, after morning breakfast, proceed on game drive in this African Savannah Park. Plenty of animals can be seen, including; Elephants, Giraffes, Buffaloes, Zebras, Hippos, Rhinos, Crocodiles, and also many other mammal species. Known as one of the most

scenic Savannah in East Africa, the game drive in Akagera National Park provides you with Opportunity to also view gentle hills blending beautifully with lowland swamps and Water bodies. Dominated by the labyrinth of swamps and lakes that follow the meandering Akagera River, the remote Source of Rive Nile, Akagera National Park (1.075 km2) is archetypal African Savannah; tangled Acacia Woodland interspersed with open grassland but above all, Akagera is a big game country!

Herds of elephants and buffalo emerge from woodland to drink at the lakes; lucky visitors might stumble across a leopard, a spotted hyena, even a stray lion. Giraffes and zebras haunt the savannah and more dozen types of antelope inhabit the park, most commonly the handsome chestnut-coated impala and worlds largest Antelope, the statuesque cape Eland.

Lunch en-route. In the afternoon, exit with more games viewing en-route and transfer to Volcanoes National Park in Musanze – Kinigi in the north western side of the country.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking Experience.

Stop At: Volcanoes National Park, Musanze Kinigi, Ruhengeri Rwanda
06:00 Am, Breakfast at the hotel 06:30 Am, after an early breakfast, your driver guide will transfer your to the Volcanoes National Park Headquarters for registration and briefing. Your driver guide will assist and facilitate on identifying gorilla family to visit.

Tracking can be between 90 minutes – 6 Hours depending on what family group assigned. You will spend 1 hour with the Gorillas – sometimes moving around to stay with the gorillas or following them. The guide will ensure you are in the best spots to take the most beautiful pictures and experience the breathtaking experience properly.

You will then drive back to the hotel for lunch and refreshment.

Later in the afternoon, you will visit the twin lakes. These beautiful twin lakes are located at the base Volcano Muhabura and close to the border of Rwanda and Uganda in the northern part of Rwanda, on the outskirts of Musanze. Lake Burera and Lake Ruhondo are separated by a 1 km wide strip of land. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Golden Monkey Trekking & Cultural Safari.

Stop At: Volcanoes National Park, Musanze Kinigi, Ruhengeri Rwanda
06:00 Am, Breakfast at the hotel

06:30 Am, after an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters for your second experience with different endangered species in the volcanoes ‘Golden monkeys’ It is normally an easy trek which might take between 45 minutes to 2 hours.

You will then drive back to your hotel for lunch and Refreshment.

Later in the afternoon, you will visit Gorilla Guardians former Iby’iwacu cultural village. This cultural village displays a traditional lifestyle of a Rwandan including dress code, food growing, processing and preparation, their wedding traditional ceremonies and interpersonal relationship within the community. After the visit, return to hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Lunch at your hotel, later drive back to Kigali city, stopover a couple of Craft shops to buy souvenir. Proceed to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight.
