Gorilla Trek, Safari and Zanzibar Holiday

We have carefully put together this itinerary to include a gorilla trek in the rain forests of Bwindi in Uganda, a birding trip in Tarangire, a safari through Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater. At the end of your safari, you will fly to Zanzibar Island where you can enjoy a cooking lesson, and a sandbank picnic and snorkeling excursion!

Kindly note that all the components of this itinerary are customizable to suit your personal preferences, interests and budget.

TRAVEL PERIOD: February 1 to March 31 2019

Day 1: Arrival at Kigali:

Meet on arrival at Kigali Airport, drive to your hotel. Overnight at Five to Five Hotel (Bed & Breakfast)

Day 02-03: Gorilla Trekking Adventure:

After breakfast, visit the genocide memorial in Kigali, drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda. Visit the Batwa tribe on arrival. Go for your gorilla trek, re-crossing the border and return to Kigali. Overnight at Bakiga Lodge (Full Board), followed by Five to Five Hotel (Bed & Breakfast) for 1 night.

Day 4: Kigali to Kilimanjaro:

Drop off at Kigali Airport for your flight to Kilimanjaro Airport, meet your Tanzanian driver guide for your transfer to Arusha. Tanzania is the largest country in East Africa, known for its natural beauty and abundant wildlife. Whether it was the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro, the Great Wildebeest Migration, you are in for the adventure of a lifetime! drive from Arusha to reach Tarangire National Park! Retreat to your lodge perched on a bluff overlooking the Tarangire River. The next day, enjoy a fantastic birding experience with your guide that this season has got to offer, before transferring to Karatu. Enjoy you stay at Tarangire Safari Lodge (Full Board) for 1 night)

Day 5: Tarangire National Park:

Full day game drive in Tarangire National Park, Overnight at Tloma Lodge (Full Board) for 1 night.

Day 06-8: Serengeti National Park:

After breakfast, drive to Ndutu area for a chance to see wildebeest calves, continue to Serengeti, enjoy game drives in the Central Serengeti. Overnight at Kati Kati Tented Camp (Full Board) for 3 nights.

Day 9: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater Rim:

Enjoy your last morning in the Serengeti, drive to Ngorongoro Crater rim. Overnight at Rhino Lodge (Full Board) for 1 night.

Day 10: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha to Kilimanjaro: 

Early morning descend onto the Crater floor for game viewing. The morning hours are the best for game viewing on the crater floor, when animals are actively searching for food, drive back to Airport Planet Lodge near Kilimanjaro Airport via Arusha. (Bed & Breakfast) for 1 night

Day 11-13: Zanzibar Coast: 

On Day 11, drop off at Kilimanjaro Airport, fly to Zanzibar. On arrival, transfer to Stone Town to sample street foods with your guide, transfer to your seaside hotel in Jambiani. On Day 12, go for a Swahili cooking class at a local restaurant. On Day 13, go for a snorkeling and sandbank picnic excursion. Enjoy you stay at Jambiani Villas - Apartment (Bed & Breakfast) for 3 nights.

Day 14: Jambiani to Stone Town Zanzibar Airport: Transfer to Kizimbani for a spice plantation tour and lunch, then transfer to Stone Town for a free afternoon. Enjoy dinner at Emerson on Hurumzi, then to Zanzibar International Airport for your departure flight home.
