Stop At: The National Assembly, 13, Nikola Pasic Square, Belgrade Serbia

The cornerstone of the building was laid in the 1907. by King Peter I, but the National Assembly was finally finished in the 1936. Opposite to the National Assembly of Serbia are the Old court where the president's office is, and the New court - today the Assembly of city of Belgrade.

Stop At: St. Sava Temple (Hram Svetog Save), Svetosavski Square Karadjordje's Park, Vracar, Belgrade 011 Serbia

Visit the magnificent Cathedral of St. Sava, the largest Orthodox church in the Balkans, dedicated to to St. Sava the founder of the Serbian Orthodox Church. The temple was built on the spot where the holy relics of Saint Sava were burned down by the Turkish vizier Sinan Pasa in 1594.

On the Terazije square in the beginning of the 20th century the hotel Moskva was built and it still represents on of the most beautiful buildings in Belgrade in secession architectural style. In front of the hotel is the Terazije fountain from 1860.

Visit the Serbian Orthodox Cathedral (Saborna crkva), which was built on the orders of Prince Miloš Obrenović in 1837 in a classical style with late baroque elements. The church is dedicated to the Archangel Michael.


Stop At: Kalemegdan Park and Belgrade Fortress, Kalemegdan, Belgrade Serbia

Explore the Kalemegdan park and the Belgrade Fortress with the remains of the ancient city of Singidunum, today Belgrade. The city was founded by a Celtic tribe in the 3rd century BC. From the 1st century AD Singidunum was an important fortress and town, a Roman colony on the military frontier between the Roman Empire and barbaric Eastern Europe.

Roman well - More likely is that it was actually built in the 18th century by the Austrians and that the name could be connected to their ambition to be considered as the inheritors of the great Roman Empire, or as the holders of the title of the Holy Roman Emperor, a confusing title which came after the actual Roman empire and referred to the ruler of the Germanic lands. The notoriety of the ‘Roman Well’ comes from the many tales and legends of prisoners being thrown down the hole throughout the Belgrade history.

Tito's bunker - In 1948, after the Informbiro resolution and the ensuing Tito–Stalin split, a construction of the defensive bunker began on the fortress. It has parts of the authentic inventory from the 1950s: safety doors, beds, ventilation, water tanks, etc.

Great Austrian gunpowder magazine, built during the Austrian occupation of Belgrade 1718-39, after they destroyed the old one during the 1717 Siege of Belgrade. They directly hit the magazine with a cannonball and the explosion which followed allowed the Austrians to capture the city. The magazine is today embellished with the artifacts from the Roman period which were discovered in or around the fortress: tombstone stelae, monuments, altars and the Sarcophagus of Jonah, which originates from the 3rd century AD.
