Raffles City is located is in the heart of the Civic District, where the colonial authorities housed many important buildings. In fact, the mall sits on the site of the city’s first colonial school - the Raffles Institution. The school was established almost 200 years ago by Sir Stamford Raffles, modern Singapore’s founder.

Pass By: Tan Kim Seng Fountain, connaught Dr, Singapore Singapore

The fountain is a memorial to Tan Kim Seng, a wealthy merchant who was also actively involved in public life. He funded the construction of Singapore’s first public reservoir – now called MacRitchie Reservoir – which was completed in 1877.

Stop At: Padang, Between St. Andrew Road and Connaught Drive, Singapore 179682 Singapore

The Padang (Malay for 'field') is an open playing field located within the Downtown Core of the Central Area in Singapore.

Stop At: Anderson Bridge, Mouth of Singapore River, Singapore Singapore

The steel ribbed Anderson Bridge was built in 1910 to facilitate the growing traffic. Today, the bridge remains the oldest bridge across the river still open to vehicular traffic.

Bugis Street is a hot, bustling, and nearly claustrophobic street market selling everything from I Love SG shirts to sex toys. It’s Singapore’s version of Tokyo’s Harajuku, except it's cheaper, and has a lot more food.

Bras Basah gets its name from the Malay term for ‘wet rice’, which was once laid out to dry on the banks of a nearby river. Back then, the Bras Basah neighborhood was designated as a European area by the British colonial planners. It explains the prevalence of Catholic churches and missionary-run schools.

The Cathedral of the Good Shepherd is the oldest Catholic church in Singapore. It was established in 1832. The neo-Palladian porticoes and steeple are its most prominent features, which a $30m restoration in 2015 made sure to keep.

This building was originally constructed in 1852 by a priest-cum-architect, who came from France with Father Beurel. Additions to the structure, like the blue teak dome, were slowly added to this Baroque landmark
