If you are looking for wine tasting and relaxing at spas, you have just found the perfect holidays for! We will take you to taste a very special wine, called Tokaj, which is known in Slovakia for being 'the king of wines and the wine of '. Its cellars are very special and carved in volcanic stones. We will offer you one of the best spas of Slovakia, Aqua City, where the swimming pools have natural hot mineral water and an amazing wellness centre to turn your trip into a dream! The minimum number of tourists for our tours is 2 people. The prices on the website are per person for a group of 2 people. For groups of 3 to 4 or more, we will negotiate a discount based on how many people would like to join our tours. Please contact us for further information on groups of more than 2 people.

Itinerary

Day 1: Kosice and Tokaj region

Stop At: Kosice Historical Centre, Hviezdoslavova 7, Kosice 04001 Slovakia
Today we will collect you from Kosice airport and spend the morning in Kosice. The first registers of Kosice date from 1230 when it was known as Villa Cassa. Kosice is the biggest city of East Slovakia. In 2013 it was the European capital of culture together with Marseille, France. The city centre of Kosice is really well preserved. There visitors can see buildings in Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and Art Nouveau styles. The biggest church of Slovakia is also located here, St. Elisabeth Cathedral. If you feel adventurous, you can climb the cathedral tower and enjoy a beautiful view of Kosice. In the city centre tourists can enjoy drinks and meals at bars, cafes, restaurants or go to boutiques and museums, among them Kosice Gold Treasure Museum. During medieval times, these buildings were merchants and aristocrats houses. In the centre of the square, locals and tourists can visit the Theatre, with presentations of ballet, opera and plays. Kosice is also the home of the oldest marathon in Europe and the second oldest in the world. After having lunch in Kosice, we will head to the Tokaj wine region. Tokaj is well known in Slovakia as the ‘wine of kings, or the king of wines’ because in the past it was served in all royal European meals. Nowadays, there are 10 types of Tokaj wines which got prizes in and outside Europe. A rarity found in this region are the Tokaj medieval wineries and cellars carved in volcanic rocks called tufas. The cellars date from the turkish wars in this region, where they were built to serve as refuge to the troops involved in the war. Some cellars were built with an eight to sixteen metre depth. This is definitely a trip that cannot be missed if you are visiting Slovakia.

Day 2: Poprad

oday you will spend the day at Aqua City Poprad, a resort located in Poprad by the High Tatras mountains. The resort was nominated by the World Travel Awards (WTA) as the best place for a family vacation, the best spa centre and the best leading Green Resort. Aqua City resort is composed by a water park, spa, hotels and conference centre which are all connected by glass lifts and airy corridors. They all use alternative energy sources. The resort’s hotels, spa and water park are heated by a geothermal spring water, drilled from a vast subterranean lake, supplying up to 80 per cent of the total electricity used. By avoiding fossil fuels, the resort saves 27 tons of carbon emissions per day. Tourists will definitely feel that they are having fun and experiencing a sustainable tourism. In Aqua City you will be able to enjoy an Olympic pool, water park, indoor and outdoor dipping pools, a floating bar, and a health spa. If you are looking for relaxation, you will find your place at the wellness centre, which is divided into a private and a party zone, with different types of saunas and inhalation rooms, offering also resting rooms with waterbeds. If you prefer to enjoy a drink by the pool, you enjoy this unique 14m long Vital Pool Bar with trendy cocktails and meals. At the end of the day, to finish up in great style, there is a light show with different themes every day of the week. You can watch it in the pool while listening and dancing through the music. In the winter, the best place to be is the outdoor pools, where you can enjoy the snow and the hot spring waters at the same time.

Day 3: High Tatras

Stop At: Tatras National Park, Tatranska Strba 75, Tatranska Lomnica 059 41 Slovakia
Today we will visit the most beautiful mountains of Slovakia, High Tatras. Our first stop is ˆtrbské pleso, a picturesque glacial lake and a top tourist destination in this region. It is the second largest glacial lake after Veľké Hincovo pleso. It can reach up to 20 metres depth. It is fed by underground springs and has no visible outflow stream. Its surface remains frozen for around 155 days per year. In the winter ˆtrbské Pleso offers excellent skiing conditions, attracting people who love alpine skiing, downhill skiing or cross-country skiing. After visiting this amazing place, we will go to Starý Smokovec. Its name means "Old Smokovec". It is a popular resort for skiing and hiking. It also forms the junction of the Tatra Electric Railway train line, connecting Poprad, Tatranská Lomnica and ˆtrbské Pleso. The Sanatorium and the Grand Hotel (established in 1904) are amongst the more important buildings in the area. For visitors who are interested in unique tourist attractions, they can visit Tricklandia in Starý Smokovec where they will have fun with its trickart. Trickart is the art that creates visual illusions, showing pictures that appear to exist, but are only two-dimensional drawings. In the afternoon we will take you back to Aqua City Poprad, where you can enjoy the spa, outdoor pools and relax overlooking of the Tatras mountains.

Day 4: Poprad and returning back to Kosice

Today you will have the morning for yourself to enjoy Poprad. In Poprad visitors can find cafes, restarurants, a shopping centre and the beautiful medieval part of the city - Spisska Sobota, where you can see the typical merchant houses of that time with their unique roofs. In the afternoon we will pick you up at your accommodation and drop you off at Kosice Airport.
