With this wine tour you can experience the surrounding area of Stellenbosch and it’s wine route by way of a Hop on Hop off service that departs Mondays to Fridays This route goes to 5 different wine estates during the day, you decide where you want to go and how long you want to stay on each farm. Farms visited are Lanzerac, Neil Ellis, Thelema, Zorgvliet and Boschendal.

The Eastern Route wine tour in Stellenbosch operates on Mondays to Fridays. You can be collected at any Guesthouse in Stellenbosch or at the Stellenbosch Tourism Information office at 36 Mark Street.
You can decide when you would like to depart and how long you would like to hop on hop off along our route. The mini bus departure times from Stellenbosch town are at 10am, 11am, Midday, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm. Please be advised that the later you depart, the fewer estates you will be able to visit.
The Eastern Route showcases some of the best wines and views Stellenbosch has to offer. Experience the splendour of the Helshoogte pass and it’s wine farms on this tour.
This Vine Hopper Route also offers some great Restaurants at Lanzerac, Zorgvliet and Boschendal.  Great wines, fantastic scenery from the pass, and lovely relaxed settings make this a must do route. We visit the following 5 farms on the Eastern Route wine tour. 
Lanzerac: Established in 1692, Lanzerac is one of the oldest wine farms in the Cape. It is an iconic cellar with a rich history and a worldwide reputation for well-crafted quality wines.
Neil Ellis: Enjoy great wines in the modern tasting room with outside views towards the spectacular Simonsberg Mountain. Enjoy a meat and cheese platter for 2 while doing so.
Thelema: Situated at the top of the picturesque Helshoogte pass, visitors are welcomed by spectacular views of the Banghoek valley while tasting a selection of wines from both the Thelema and Sutherland ranges.  Family-run since 1983, Thelema is best known for their fresh Sauvignon Blancs and minty Cabernet Sauvignons and is regarded as an icon in the South African wine industry.
Zorgvliet: At Zorgvliet they believe in elegance in wine and that the consumer should be able to taste the unique terroir of the Banhoek valley in every sip of Zorgvliet’s wines! Picnic baskets, restaurant and platter available on this stunning estate.
Boschendal : Founded in 1685, Boschendal is one of the oldest wine estates in South Africa,  surrounded by the dramatic mountainous landscape of the Drakenstein Valley.  Here you can do wine tastings, lunches and walk around in the beautiful gardens
After the tour, you will be dropped you off at your pick up location.
