Busan, back then called as Dongnae-bu (Dongnae Province) was one of the historically important region in the Chosun era as a gate to Korea and, at the same time, as a guard to Korea.
We will back to Chosun era to experience life of Chosun people also look around the architecture in Chosun period.

Stop At: Beomeosa Sungbo Museum, 250, Beomeosa-ro, Geumjeong-gu, Busan 46200 South Korea
Its name, which means "The Heavenly Fish Temple", was originated by an important legend.
There is said to be a well filled with clear, golden water which never runs dry. The magical properties of this well were bestowed upon it many years ago when a golden fish descended upon five-colored clouds from heaven and made its home in the water.
The temple was founded in the year of 678 A.D., during the time of the Shilla dynasty in order to retreat Japanese invaders with the God's help.
Also, this temple is the one of the famous temples in the south east Korea region, along with Haeinsa Temple and Tongdosa Temple.

Stop At: Geumjung Mt. fortress, Geumjeong-gu, Busan South Korea
Geumjung Fortress is the largest mountain fortress in the Republic of Korea today.
But now there is only a 4-kilometer-long section remaining from its original form.
Following Japanese invasion of 1592, awareness of the necessity of national defense was heightened, especially attacks from the sea.
As a result, this fortress was built in the year of 1703.

Stop At: Dongnae-bu Government Office Chungsindang, 61, Myeongnyun-ro 112beon-gil, Dongnae-gu, Busan 47810 South Korea
Dongnae-bu Government Office in which the Dongnae magistrate carried on business
during the Chosen period (1392-1910).
Dongheon was the place where a leader dealt with public problems during the Chosen period.
Therefore, the Dongheon was the central government office.
Dongnae district had importance in military and diplomatic ways, so its office was bigger than those of other offices.
Magistrate worked in this building and conducted diplomacy with Japanese diplomats.
Therefore, it was one of the most important government offices in Dongnae.
Throughout the Japanese occupation, the building has seen modification in its structure, walls and floors,
and thus has lost its original form, but it still shows the late Chosun Dynasty architectual style for government offices.

Jangdae is the command post of the general built in a place where it is easy to conduct military command during the war.
Not every fortress had Jangdaes but only the ones that are large and important had Jangdaes. Dongnaeeupseong Walled Town
has three Jangdaes.

During the Chosen Dynasty, Dongnae Eupseong was a diplomatic center with Japan, so it was large and formal.
Dongnae seong(Castle) battle took place in 1592 when the Japanese Invasion of Korea took place.
In 1731, it was rebulit much larger in consideration of the imporrtance of Dongnae, the gateway to the country.
The walls of Dongnae Eupseong was mostly demolished during Japanese occupation.

Stop At: 장영실 과학동산, 18 Dongnaeyeoksagwan-gil, Bokcheon-dong, Dongnae-gu, Busan, South Korea
This science Garden was established to commemorate the scientific achievement of Jang Yeong-sil,
a great 15th century scientist born in Dongnae.
The park displays a total of 19 reproductions of astronomical equipment and devices made by Jang and his fellow scientists.

Stop At: Dongnaeeupseong Fortress Site, Allak-dong, Dongnae-gu, Busan, South Korea
Opened inside of the Bukmun Gate of Dongnaeeupseong Walled Town Site in March 2007, the museum exhibits a miniature model
of the fortified city, photos, and various other displays. A visitor can enjoy the folk gams in the front yard
like dice throwing or shuttle cock kicking.

Stop At: Busan Sirip Bokchon Bakmulkwan, 50, Bokcheon-Dong, Dongnae-Gu, Busan South Korea
Tumuli in Bokcheon-dong, Dongnae has a number of tombs. The tombs are scattered hillside in Bokcheon-dong.
It is considered to be built from ancient Gaya dynasty (42-532 A.D).
So far, 40 tombs were found but most of the tombs are still in the ground.
