Deoksugung Palace is special among Korean palaces as this palace has a modern and a western style garden and fountain. You will watch The Change of Royal Guard ceremony at here, as well.

Stop At: Jungmyeongjeon Hall, 41-11, Jeongdong-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul 04518 South Korea

Jungmyeongjeon Hall is designed by the Russian architect Seredin Sabatin, was used as the imperial library between 1897 and 1901.

After Deoksugung Palace caught on fire, Jungmyeongjeon Hall became the main office of Emperior Gojong for discussing national affairs greeting foreign dignitaries. It also witnessed the tragic part of history in which the infamous Eulsa Treaty (Japan-Korea Protectorate Treaty) was signed.

Yeongcheon Market sells a wide range of produce and ingredients from fruits to seafood. Known for their Kkwabaegi (Twisted Bread Stick), Tteokbokki, and Twigim (Fried Food), Yeongcheon Market has become a hot place for the younger crowd.

Stop At: Dongnimmun Gate, 941, Hyeonjeo-dong, Seodaemun-gu Seodaemun Dongnip Park, Seoul 120-080 South Korea

Dongnimmun, also known as Independence Gate, was built in 1898, to announce the independence from Japan. Dongnimun was constructed with the fund collected by the citizens. Take a look at the top of gate, it is written 'Dongnimmun' in Korean with national flag drawn on each side.

Pass By: Seodaemun Prison History Hall, 484 Tongil-ro, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul 03628 South Korea

Seodaemun Prison History Hall was built near the end of the Joseon Dynasty (~1910), and was where Japanese soldiers tortured and later executed Korean Independence Movement followers. Seodaemun Prison History Hall was built in remembrance of Seodaemun Prison, and to salute the Korean patriots. We do not enter to the hall, but guide will explain this place briefly and you can take a look by yourself if you would like to.
