Still very traditional today, the Alpujarra remains a rich land behind Sierra Nevada Mountain Range in Granada, Spain. A half day excursion there, including lunch will allow us to explore the ingenious irrigation systems left behind by the Moriscos, Last Muslims in Spain. Millenary olive tree crops, vegetable and animal farms are avaliable for visiting as well as horse riding or mountain adventure services, the duration of the visit will be according to the groups interest and optional activity choices.

In the afternoon is left as a free program for you to relax and enjoy the facilities provided, shopping and getting to know the local culture within the modern and historical town of Granada.

Some of our lovely white Alpujarran villages, in Andalusia (Spain) are Pórtugos. Ferreirola, Mecina-Fondales, Cenes, Pitres or Cáñar, they are all so alike! Like mirrors to each other on the hills, through the old minars we can realize how the villages aren’t just located anywhere on the hills, but they are all visually connected to each other.

The Alpujarra contains very rich spiritual traditions within Islamic practises. These where who claimed no Victor but Allah, and were the last Muslims of Al-Andalus before the total ban of Islam in Spain came in 1609.
