Pablo Picasso is considered one of the most important and influential artists of the twentieth century. The Malaga-born painter spent his youth in Barcelona and remained connected to the city his whole life. The Picasso Museum houses a collection of 4,249 works by the artist, which were donated to the museum by his secretary Jaume Sabartés, his widow Jacqueline and the artist himself.
The Picasso Museum shows many works of his formative years that I have spent mainly in Barcelona, Horta de Sant Joan, Madrid and Paris. A guided tour of the Picasso Museum is a great opportunity to get to know this exceptional artist and to understand his his artistic journey.
