A journey of 8 kilometers between round and round, by the channel of the Río Chillar that is in Nerja, in the Natural Park of Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama. It is one of the most beautiful rivers in the province of Malaga for its narrow canyons combined with large areas of rest and its landscapes excavated for thousands of years by the erosion of water on the limestone.

The route runs along its course, can travel for several kilometers enjoying a singular enclave and with the peculiarity of being able to be soaked during much of the tour.

The water is clear and as you ascend the channel becomes narrower and the level of the river can reach above the knees.

Itinerary

If you know Nerja and the Malaga region of Axarquía you have probably heard of the Los Cahorros Hiking Trail on the Chillar River. Along the route through its channel you will have the opportunity to walk through the water sheltered by a dense vegetation and rocky areas of unparalleled beauty but you will also enjoy bathing in its pools and waterfalls as you make the way to the impressive gorges of the area known as Los Cahorros.
